Scoping the Schultz and Larson .22

Where did you find the S&L 22 , please post how it shoots with different ammo . I've always been to tight to buy match 22 ammo and it's hard to find - so I read - I believe my better rifles shoot more types of ammo acceptable , it bothers me if I need special ammo to perform reliable. But I'm more of a gopher shooter and only demand 1/2 M.O G.

Tradeex sells them. They're a sponsor here. I've shot all kinds of ammo with good results but so far the best is CCI. They have a match chamber so at times the cheaper ammo's case has to be knocked out. For the price you can't lose with these rifles.

RWS sport line Target Rifle is what mine likes...one hole groups at 50m.
No scopes on mine, but I did score an adapter that lets me use standard diopters.

Can someone post up some group's with these rifles. I have yet to see one in the 1/2" challenge post. I would buy one with some evidence of good groups.

Hitzy..........where did you get the adapter for the rear sight and what replacements are available for the front ? I tried the inserts from my Hw 80K/.22 airgun and RWS 45 but neither is the correct size...........Harold

My gunsmith had one in the parts drawer...I also lucked out with a second one from Tradex that came with a Gehman diopter and the adapter. The adapter is 6mm x 0.75 to 9.5mmx1.0 IIRC. Front sight inserts are standard anschutz for the pressed on front sights the M70/M77 have, easy to find.
I have a thread open in the gunsmithing section, hopefully someone will make up a batch of these diopter adapters....you could post interest in there if you like.

Looks like the adapters can be made without too much trouble, fellow nutter is going to do up a few prototypes when he has some shop time. Both the pre and post M70 style sight adapters can be made, you just need to know what you have as the pre-70 are 6x1 threads and look like this vs mine above.
For diopters, the Centra one I got was on for $30 at Brownells, keep your eyes open for deals as they are not expensive for the basic versions.
