It's not correct to compare US and Canadian prices.
US prices are being jacked up with no imports and past requirements to install safety on TTs.
Canada prices for are being dragged down with tons of refurbished TT-33.
All above has effect on collectible specimens too.

Production data for TT-30 and transitional TT-30:
1933: 6,785
1934: 47,150
1935: 38,488 (this number includes some TT-33s)
Overall production of TT pistols all years (appr.): 1,700,000
Add to this that chance of "survival" for pre-war and early war pistols is significantly less than chances of late war or post war pistol.

You guys do know we're talking about the TT-30 vs the TT-33, right?

I don't know if I buy a refurbished TT-30 as being worth over 1K, but I've seen them sell no problem at $600. I think TT-33 to TT-30 value is apples to oranges - very similar pistol, sure, but ALOT rarer.

Fwiw some dealers think there is market support for $1000. I'm not in that club and those who agree likely have one they want to sell for that price. Ymmv.
