Talk me out of buying a SAP6

I recently sold a rifle that wasnt for sale. A buddy made me a good a good offer, the gun wasnt being used anymore for a bit.

Now I'm sitting here, looking at a SAP6. I have no need for it but definitly want it as a "farm/gravel pit gun" to blast cans, clays and other stuff like that. I do the occasionnal 3guns events, for fun also, I have no interest in competing seriously.

How does the gun acts with target load like Challenger ?

Any guys here that have a "high mileage" one to tell me how they handle wear&tear ?

Magazines availability ? I'm looking at one with two 6 rds mags. How hard are extra mags to find like the 11rds one ?


Not interested in other similar looking shotguns, its just one more range toy/impulse buy really.

So yeah, talk me out of it please :p

Bought it from an impulsive buyer friend for 500$

2 x 6rds mags
2 x 11rds mags
Handstop was installed to the pump

Now looking for a red dot for it and range time sometimes this year
 
You really should just search the forum since this has already been covered.... More people have had major problems with them, than people who have had them work out....
 
I have fired one, a friend owns one which has just come back from a lengthy stay at the company gunsmith. It jammed nearly every round of short brass bird shot, Clever, Challenger etc. It also jammed on 00 buck and slugs from time to time.

The new barrel on it since its return, it seems to function as intended.

Aboslutely not true. The reality is we've sold so many of them that the number of lemons may be higher than other shotguns other there (we are routinely told by dealers the SAP6 is their top selling individual gun), but the percentage (2.5%) still well within industry norms. Most only speak-up if there's a problem, not if it's working 100%.

In any case there is absolutely no reason to have a lemon when you can have it repaired quickly , efficiently and at no cost.

Yeah and sadly add me to the list of another one having serious issues. If I am lucky it's just a bad batch of box magazines that was included with the shotgun, if not well lesson learned.

For reference I have one of the earlier batches with the stiff safety.

Or in my case not fixed at all and left with a useless firearm. Personally I would stay very far away from TI.

We offered a brand new replacement after the mix-up with the repair. Cheezz instead decided to sell broken SAP6 at a loss (I believe new owner sent it in for full repair) and forever comment in youtube videos and CGN threads about how terrible the SAP6 is and to not deal with us...
