There will be plenty of guns to go around for everyone that wants one, if TI doesn't bring enough of these in someone else will.
This pre-order ensures you are pre-paying a premium as well to get one first.... these Chinese things ALWAYS go down in price within a month or 2. If you knew the markup on Chinese guns you would instantly catch dysentery...
Your $1000 gun won't fetch $700 on the EE 2 months after they land because someone will ve selling then new for $800.
A bunch of us have pre-ordered, it's only $1000....if you don't want to order one then don't. But stop pestering the people who have these ordered.

Makes me wonder what there gearing up for???

Just because its a "large military order" doesn't mean it is for the Chinese military, "they" could be referring to any 3rd world country either placing an order themselves, or even a Chinese sponsored 3rd world country getting carrots.

Just got an email from them confirming the delay until winter and the bonus sling and mag they will be throwing in as a bonus. It's nice to see them finally making personal contact for those of us that have committed to the pre-order.

Yes, it is good. Although it is just a copy and paste, just their last few small bits of info and effort, I find to be an enormous plus in their favor. For myself, anyway. I've gone from reconsidering my options of staying in, to reconsidering an option to get another. Decisions, decisions.

Got my email as well what's 1000$ these days? That's easily more than most will pay for rent let alone a mortgage....i will say one thing that if these aren't here by new years I'm gonna be a little pissed

First of all, EMEI is not a very big factory. It is primary build for civilian firearm market.

This year EMEI is still doing production on T97NSR, the new T97NSRA keymod flat top version was delayed due to keymod slot readjustment after initial feedback saying those keymod were not up to spec. So EMEI is working on that at the moment.

T81 Canadian version needs to wait until EMEI moves to military t81 production. It is easier for them than open a new line for type81 then rest of the factory working on T97.

I'd be very surprised if these are here this year.

I'm trying to be realistic. I'd like to own this rifle too, but for a rifle that isn't even being manufactured yet? I'd expect next summer if at all.

Lots of things can happen, and if this order can be bumped for another order, as it has been, then anything more profitable for the manufacturer will likely take presidence.

Without a contract to supply the rifles by a certain date, this is a back burner project.

A bit like vaporware for now as these rifles don't exist

Maybe the factory will feel guilty about the delays and will ship us pre-existing full auto T-81s and hope no one notices. Can you see it @semi-manual ?

Best chance of seeing these rifles even by summer 2017 is if NS or CA or some other large importer with a working relationship with China exporting puts in a substantial order for these. Then they might get built...

I agree. The Tavor and T97 also did not require crowdfunding to get built. Nor did the Swiss Arms Blue Special series of rifles.

For me, a preorder is different when the product exists.

Perhaps this is the only way for TI to afford for these to get built. I'm glad TI is going through these efforts and I don't think anyone is getting ripped off, it's just not my thing.

I'll buy one when they come in.

Hmm... I can't see the factory having guilt ... or full autos but I don't see a way to lose here. If the T81s never materialize we get our money back. If the factory comes across with the rifles we have one of the coolest firearms to come into Canada in a while. Which is way better than having the $4 interest the money would have made in an account.

Hey, HawkWei, thanks for the T97NSR-A update! :D
