.44 mag reloading

Hey guys, I'm going to start reloading some .44 mag for my Rossi ranch hand. I just want to make some cheap plinking rounds, just to hit targets with. So I'm going to get the campro plated 240 grain projectiles. What would be my best bet for powder? I currently have some titegroup, but I was thinking h110, but if titegroup will work than I rather use that. And for primers do I need large Magnum pistol primers or just large pistol primers?

I reload light loads with campros, titegroup and either primer. Works fine for me.

My Fave pistol load is a 240gr cast with 8.4gr HS-6

Stupid accurate and very mild without being akin to rodent flatulence

Save the h110 for full power loads. It has a narrow operating range and does best as a full power magnum powder. Titegroup should work fine.

The brass is harder to find, plus I like shooting the .44 mag

Expensive still! either cast your own or use commercial cast. Using my cast, 7gr tightgroup would cost me $5/ 50 rounds. i use my buddy's 44mag when we go to the range so i bought a box of wolf cast for $60 tax in (500) which works out to $9.25/ 50.

I know the CAS guys love trailboss for reduced loads (literally what it was designed for), hodgon says 6-7.3 grains for a jacketed 240 for arouns 900 fps out of 9 inch barrel. Trailboss really fills up the case usually too.

yup, makes the 357mag feel like a 22lr and the 500mag feel like a light 38spl.

I do the same as above. I haven't used trailboss, but the idea of filling up the case making much more difficult to double charge appeals to me.
