Any Remington V3 owners?

Anyone here get their hands on the V3 yet? How do you like it and have you put it through its paces yet?
I'm considering adding a new Semi auto and one on the short list is the the V3, but no one locally has one in stock and so far google hasn't answered the most critical question for me. How close are the stock dimensions to the 1100/1187?
Helps that all the chokes from my many 870's will also fit the v3
 
I bought one about a month back but still haven't been able to get out with it due to work. I believe it uses the same Chokes as the 870 from looking at them but I'm not 100% on that. However, , you do get three chokes in the box with the gun as well.

It fits me better, just picking it up, than the SA08 that it replaced.
 
Not a owner...yet, but I was able to handle one at my local. I believe it was the 28" camo version. Pointed great and easy. Light, and easy to hold on to. I ordered a 26" walnut thinking (hoping) it would be a week or two. A month later and a email to Remington told me that I should be thinking more around November. Oh well, just hope it gets here before deer season.
 
I have a Versa, im not sure V2 or V3, but I have the pro bore chokes. Excellent shoty, use it for everything, waterfowl, trail bird and target. Works flawless. You wont be disappointed, not sure about chokes, I bought Carlson extended ones for ease of use, and cant complain. Good price all around and I have put over 2-3 k rounds of a variety through it. I like to shoot....lol
 
Interesting thread on sgw about some V3 guns blowing powder residue in the shooters face .seems the residue is coming from the area where the for arm and receiver meet . You can find the thread on shotgun world in the remington lovers form .
 
I read that on SGW as well, but I'll take it with a grain of salt. Just confirmed that mine should be in my hands someday next week. If there's interest, I could do a first impressions/unboxing write up. IF it does come in next week, I should be able to get to the range buy the 16th...

I have the 28" black synthetic, first time out shooting sporting clays I was getting the powder blown back in my face about once every other station. Later I did a complete disassembley including the gas pistons cleaned and reassembled. I have put 300 rounds through it since then and haven't had any issues. It's cycled everything from light target loads to heavy 3" duck loads without a problem. So far I'm quite impressed with it, and I'm looking forward to taking it out in the marsh after ducks this year.

How do you find the gun recoil wise? How would you say it compares to other auto loaders you've tried before? I've been looking to get a versamax for quite a while now because recoil has become quite an issue for my shoulder. I've got some stuff torn inside there and a day in the duck blind with my 870 leaves me with a shoulder/arm I can hardly lift and use. Until the V3 was announced I was set on the versamax, but the rem choke of the V3 and the more attractive price point given our crappy dollar have me wondering about maybe it'd be a decent choice as well. The choke system is the big plus side of the V3 for me as I've got a full selection of Trulock and a couple briley chokes for Rem choked guns. With the reduced weight of the V3 I assume it has to recoil more than the versamax but I wonder if it's still softer or close to other autos?
 
I don't find the recoil bad at all, although I'm not what you would call recoil sensitive. I don't currently own a Versamax but I have shot them on several occasions and I don't think the V3 is much worse given the weight difference. Compared to other autos I have 1100's, 11-87, sportsman 58 magnum and a SBE2 and I think it compares quite well with all of them even though it's lighter than most. Reliability has been flawless although I will say mine doesn't like the Remington hyper steel loads. I had it out in the blind this week and decided to take the box of hyper steel I picked up on sale just to get rid of it. While it cycled fine after the first shot it would load the second round into the chamber and the third would dump from the mag and sit between the bolt and lifter like a ghost load. The next two rounds would fire fine but it would keep you from topping up the mag with the third round. I tried my regular Kent loads and the problem went away, I think there is just to much juice in those hyper steel loads for the gas system. I would recommend the V3 to anybody,my only regret is I got the 28" instead of the 26" as I like a shorter barrel.
 
Thanks for the reply GunHugger. I appreciate it. I'm glad to hear that the V3 is living up to expectations for you so far. I'm really hoping it is a successful model for Remington. Seems like it offers most everything the average sportsman always asks for out of a shotgun.
 
Well, it seems that Remington likes to advertise and not produce. Looks like my V3 will be here "sometime". Not exactly sure when . . . Nov, Dec? Who knows? The people at Remington Canada aka Gravel certainly don't. I will keep y'all posted.
 
I have both. The versa max is a little softer on recoil due to the weight and slightly larger recoil pad. It's pretty simple, if you want to shoot 3 1/2" loads the versa max is the way to go. If you will only shoot 3" then go V3. I will say the v3 has a little better of a trigger and does cost less if that's a factor but you also have to REM Chokes which is nice too
