While I've a few nice Tactical shotguns including both of a 590A1 and a 870P, I really like the old school look and so I recently assembled a couple of scatterguns with that classic old look to them. The wood came off 870 police shotguns and the receivers are a 1970's Wingmaster and a more modern Turkey gun. I restored the wood, refinished the metal, added new springs and followers and, at the end of the exercise, really like how both turned out.

Function tested both this afternoon and thought I'd share a pic or two of these old boys.

Cheers,

Bob

Beautiful! I definitely agree that wood looks the best on tactical shotguns! Not as tacticool as some would like but looks great! What kind of mag extensions is that?

Have to say I like the old style more than the new tactical style too. Set up a pair of 870's one with 18.5 barrel and folding leo stock, and the other 20 inch with wood furniture. Take them over rails any day. Made a 20 inch barreled ithaca too, and that is a nice one to shoot.

Both look very sharp! I just love the 870's!

Totally agree - I usually have half a dozen or so 870's around ( you know, some go some stay ) in various configurations from 14" "Tacti-cool" to traditional like pictured above BUT as much as I like them I would, if my life absolutely depended upon it, and could choose just one scattergun think I would take my Mossberg 590 A1 with me and yet I have zero interest in Mossies; don't build or play or even take them apart. Odd eh ? Wonder if anyone else feels similar.
