That the following text replace the existing text in Point 14 of Handgun Appendix D5 (Revolver Division):

No limit on cylinder capacity. Revolvers with a capacity of 7 rounds or more do not qualify for Major, even if rounds achieve Major power factor during testing by chronograph.

The sport is to have fun and that's what I am doing after 20 yrs of shooting standard and if you have nothing good to say ,keep your comments to yourself, I can just think what you shoot , ha ha
 
Sorry, if I have offended you tweetyj, that was not my intent. However telling people to keep opinions to themselves is not going to work. Canada is a free country last time I have checked, and I can express my opinions freely, just like you. As a matter of fact rule change you propose is an opinion of yours, and based on the logic you have, you should not have brought it up.

Once again sorry for offending a large group of IPSC revolver shooters in Canada.
 
Well maybe there would be more if the could go to a gun store and actually buy a gun suitable for the game. If you wanted to shoot ipsc revolver you either had to find a used one or spend money machining a cylinder. You could not just whip out your visa and buy what you needed to play the game. The guns that we get are for the United States market most revolvers there are 4 inch or less and prohibited for us. USPSA Revolver went for 8 shot minor and they are building guns for that game and now IPSC is following suit so we will now have a supply of suitable firearms for our game.

How many people would be shooting production, standard, or open if there were no available firearms in Canada. Probably very few.

As for the number of revolver shooters at the nationals there was going to be a few more but they did not get their registrations in on time.

The rule was changed yesterday and is not my proposed change ,it will be in effect Jan. 1,2017 . Got my black badge in 1989 and have enjoyed the sport ever since and would never propose to remove a division. And shoot my first nationals in 1992 , when was your first .

I like the way USPSA does it. Having separate championships for each division. Their revolver one was close to 100 competitors. We probably wouldn't get as many in Canada, but I'm sure there are number of people who would shoot revolver after shooting their main division gun at the nationals. Say, pick some of the National stages and run revolver match in a half day or a full day format, I'd surely bring my wheel gun for that.

PS: ICORE Canadian regional in August was 38 shooters...
 
A revolver shooting minor 7, 8 or 9 rounds is going to rule the Revolver Division IMHO. And it will create an equipment race, Harry and Frank Ready, Set...Go.

revolver division is clearly for 'fun'
i don't see how this should be a division in a provincial or national competition. After all the name 'competition' suggests you'll at least be competing with other competitors. Revolver division is more of a personal strife.

You must be psychic cause I got my 929 and all the DAA gear ready to go. I had a feeling this would be coming. And by the way, how is this division any less serious than shooting 8 rounds of .45 in classic division. Or is that just a fun run for fudds as well ?
 
I had fun shooting my S&W 625 at a qualifier last year, and picked up a 929 late last year. It was fun tinkering with it, and just shot it in a local revolver only club match. The 8 shot capacity is a real game changer and I intend to split my time between Production and Revolver divisions. Recently picked up another 929 off the EE (couldn't resist a good deal), so will spend some time slicking that one up as a backup for matches :)

VanMan the grip on the one on the top and right looks pretty awesome! I haven't shot a revolver in years. threads like this make my bank account cringe ha

Actually...54 out of 1094 total shooters.. 4.93% participation ;)
Classic has 92, (the youngest division)
Open 254, (Supposedly super expensive and according to some, impossible to get ammo to compete at these matches at...)
Standard 305.
Production 389.

And Revolver is popular in Europe compared with other areas of the world.

It will definitely be a good show watching to see if the change in division brings more interest in it.
The results are entirely in the hands of the competitors...
