I have the identical rifle to Ted's and I used it to take an Atlantic walrus..........what can I say, it killed it very dead with a 270 gn Speer HC @ 2640 fps. As 9.3s go my 9.3X300 WM is an absolutely devastating cartridge with 270 Matrix RBT spritzers going a little over 3000 fps. I used it at point blank 2 falls ago on a wolf (literally less than 10 feet) and a grizzly at about 25 mtrs, again both very dead.
I have chronograph data that shows 270s at 3040 fps and 286 gn Parts at 2960 fps both through a Model 35P. To be fair though it has a 26" barrel and that is using W-W brass, which showed no pressure yet with either load. I had a thread about it a few years back, seemed to create significant controversy, but I have the chronograph print outs and Ted has seen this rifle in action at the range over the chronograph.
This is my CZ 550 FS...........the one in the rear, the front is a 7X64 and I also have a 6.5X55 in the same model.
And this is my 9.3X300 Win along with a recovered bullet from the grizzly. It is larger than a twoonie and retained 258 gns (washed and picked clean) from it's original 270 with an impact velocity in excess of 3000 fps. It now wears a 2.5-8X36 Leupold Vari X III as the scope went back to the original owner.
