Walther PPQ vs H&K SFP9

I wish i could make a poll but i don't know how so i'm asking : Which one would you choose between Walther PPQ (M1 Navy/M2 Navy/M2 5" long slide) or H&K SFP9 (VP9) ?? Review seems to put them equal but which one is your favorite??
 
No contest. PPQ M2 5" all day! Only think better may be the new PPQ Q5 Match. But it cost several hundred more.

PPQ 5" will take you a lot farther than the HK. The trigger and reset on it is outstanding and it is super accurate out of the box.
 
I'd probably go PPQ because I know it is a great shooter, but to be fair I have not yet shot the HK. Wish they made a PPQ with a 4.1" barrel like the P99.
 
i love my ppq navy m2 9mm. first handgun i ever bought. but once i shot a 1911, just love single action now. thought i would move on from ppq, but changed my mind. polymer guns are so low maintenance. got a chance to shoot other polymer da/sa pistols like, sig, glock, hk, etc...and ppq still has the better trigger and my hands grip it so much better than even my 1911!

I've read somewhere the p99 barrel fit in the PPQ but these p99 barrel must be gard to find.
 
Everyone who owns a PPQ is going to say: PPQ
Everyone who owns a SFP9 is going to say: SFP9

My votes for the SFP9, fantastic trigger, amazing ergonomics and dead reliable....
Guess which one I own?

Now to be serious. Try to handle each one. Each handgun fits everyone differently but if you can handle both the PPQ and SFP9 it should give you a good idea of which one you will prefer.

the SFP9 does give you access to the super cool HK club though ;)

I have both. Trigger on ppq is very light. Very easy to do a double tap. But I prefer sfp9. Fit and finish is better.

Ppq is like VW Golf R whereas sfp9 is like BMW.
 
I've owned both of these pistols. It's basically a tie cgners. The ppq was accurate, had the ergonomics & fantastic trigger. The trouble i had was the takedown slide would rub painful during recoil on my support hand. It didn't feel like something I wanted to keep when i had a sig p226 on my list. I recently got the hk because I wanted a light, striker fired 9mm. I fell in love & keeping it forever. Ergonomics, accuracy & trigger seems to get better the more i shoot it. A well rounded pistol that i can be proud of

I'd take my 240sx or Golf R over just a "BMW" :p


I do have the PPQ M2 Navy in 9mm and I love it.
 
I can't decide so I've got them both.

I actually prefer the long paddle release of the PPQ M1. It's natural for me to operate it with my middle finger without breaking my grip in the slightest. I use my thumb on the shorter HK paddle, and that takes a similar grip break like using a typical button mag release.

The PPQ seems a bit snappier, and it has a shorter trigger reset (not by much).

I'm on the fence about the 'ears' on the HK slide. They kind of annoy me visually when shooting, but they are functional...

I like how the PPQ Navy comes with a factory threaded barrel. I got the VP9 from Irunguns so I got a threaded barrel on my HK as well, so no complaints, but if I had to pay more to upgrade the barrel I'd be annoyed (I like threaded barrels) .

The PPQ Navy is rated to shoot underwater, but the HK will do this as well.

If I had to pick one.... I guess I'd take the PPQ, but it could really come down to a coin toss for me.
 
Had a VP9 and currently own a PPQ M2 5".
Both are very, very close and outstanding guns.
-PPQ is a bit snappy in recoil, VP9 handles recoil better.
-Grip is a bit better on the HK, trigger is a bit better on the PPQ.
-Modifying trigger components on the PPQ is much easier than the HK...if you care.

What it comes down to for me is the performance down range, the paper doesn't lie or care who made the gun or who is shooting it.
PPQ (at least the 5" gun) wins here (sight radius between the 5" PPQ and VP9 is very close by the way). I've shot a 15 round benched group at 25 meters that started to make a ragged hole, under 2 inches with boxed factory ammo!
I'm hard pressed to get that level of performance out of my X5 or S&W PPC 9.

Only accurate guns seem to be interesting these days.

I love HK but the VP 9 looks bulkier and has a longer grip than PPQ.
VP9 has advantage of 106mm barrel for most folks, but I have a 106mm Jarvis barrel for my PPQ so no Pinocchio effect

Post a pic! If I could get the a non-treaded PPQ, I would. Until then, I'm happy with my P99.
