Remington 700 long range 7mm or 30-06?

Hey guys just sold off my Tikka t3 30-06 after 3 years I just do not enjoy shooting this rifle it is nice to hunt with but that's about it and this is only My opinion not speaking for anyone else the felt recoil is probley 70% more then any other 30-06 I've fired even with a limb saver pad ...

So I hunt mostly from a stand and it will be used for deer and moose maybe a black bear one day if i find someone who likes the meat lol....I do some hiking as well I'm 225 ilbs so a 10 ilb rifle doesn't mean much to me right now at 28 ...I'm just courious is anyone have owned one of these guns and hunted / target shooting with it I'm leaning towards the 7mm rem mag to try a new caliber
 
I do not want another Tikka rifle , I didn't like the way the gun fit or shot like I said my opinion , thanks for your replys and I realize there isn't much difference in the 06 to the 7 mm until you pass 400 plus yards but I didn't not ask questions about Tikkas or other calibers just stated my opinion and as I feel now I'm Asking if anyone has used this gun in these calibers ....I hope this doesn't come across as rude and I appreciate your time to respond
 
Yeah you can't find a better factory rifle then a Remington 700. 30-06 is great caliber for 1000 yds. I used on in a Enfield action that was rebarrelled with a good quality barrel in the early 1970's and was my favourite 1000yd gun till I bought aRemington 40X in 30-06 with 180 gr Sierra Match Kings.
 
There is a good reason the 7mm Remington Magnum is the most popular "Magnum' in North America if not the world...
 
I will vote for the 7 mag. You can load very high bc bullets and send them out at high speed. 7 mag is ballistically superior to an 06. We have a 7 mag Rem 700 built for hunting and the recoil is very manageable.
 
I say go 30-06, I've been eyeing up that same model. The 30-06 will hold one more in the mag, brass is everywhere, and with modern powders and Bullets it's a hell of a lot more capable than most people think.

Who thinks the -06 isn't capable? One of the most versatile hunting calibers in NA. Its just too much recoil for a good target gun IMO, and if moose is the biggest thing the op plans to hunt, a good 6.5mm would provide amazing ballistics and plenty of killing power.

Unless the OP is dropping game at 300+ yards frequently, a 7mag does nothing a 6.5 will do, just more recoil and noise from the 7.
 
Just throwing it out there but have you considered a 280 ? better ballistics than a 30-06 in my opinion( some may disagree), less recoil for sure and very high bc bullets....

I'm sure many here are knowledgable about what the 30-06 is capable of but some reason there are still many that think it is obsolete and useless.

I said 30-06 because out of the two chamberings the OP posted about that is what I would pick. He is asking about a specific off the shelf Remington model that only comes in 25-06, 30-06, 7mm Rem mag, 300win, and 300RUM.
 
I'm looking into possible a used sendero as well , I picked my caliber going with the 7mm I want to try something different, the recoil was worse on my Tikka then any rifle I ever fired in the same caliber I didn't bother like how the Tikka fit me and that is mainly the reason it is gone plus I want a gun I can start shooting long ranges with too...BTW my Tikka and it could be possible it was just mine grouped like #### at 100 yards , I was extremely dissaponted from day one with accuracy
