I do have Lee metford 303 , front stock cut in front of the ring, long barrel uncut and no magazine , the bore and bolt are very nice.
Is it better to restore the rifle back to military style, or maybe someone will do it himself?

Depending on the price ill buy it from you to restore. I very much so love these rifles. And im working on a few old lee enfields, LEC and MLE right now.

They are worth alot restored but very hard to find parts for. You would need to have a front stock made for it. And the mag will be hard to find.

Pm me if your intrested in getting rid of it.

Only the magazine for the Lee Metford Mk1 is single stack. The Mk II and Mk II* take the same magazine as the MLE. Those latter Lee Metfords are essentially the same rifle as the MLE, but with metford rifling and no safety on the MkII.

Fore stocks are being made by Alberta gunstocks in New Norway, Alberta. They are about 90% done and the last one cost me around $150.00 if I remember correctly. Fish belly magazines can be found for $100.00 or more. Bands and nose caps you have to be careful purchasing. Over the last few years I managed to buy a few on the internet that were actually for the .22 cal version, close but no cigar for a .303 . Restoring rifles can be a great hobby to while away the winter but If you are doing it to try and make some money there a better choices than MLM's and MLE's. Collectors of these will not pay much when there are still originals to be had. Pass it on to someone who has the time and resources to make a shooter for himself.

(Evanguy) are you still thinking of doing a run of Long lee Nose caps?

Thank you for your information, I will not restore the rifle myself, but I belive it has potential the bore is decent , bolt too.

Yeah im working on them now, along with LEC barrel bands and retainers, LEC nose caps have been done for a bit now.

I also bought this rifle,

Its not a lee metford, well at the very least its a lee metford with a replacment lee enfield barrel on it.
so the metford part is gone, the wrist band has been scrubbed so no real easy was to tell.

Im gong to restore it as a long lee, LE1

Well, half of everything im making is spoken for from Englishman_ca

The other half is for my self, for projects and for trading peices.

There was an error in comunication so im only going to have 10 long lee nose caps total. But ill have/ do have 10 of each of the other things even after i send half to Englishman_ca.

So that leaves myself 5 long lee caps. And i need two my self. So ill have three up for grabs. They will be finished on nov 1st this year. If there is a need for them ill get another batch of ten made up

And cost, im not sure. Id rather trade them for enfield parts opposed to selling them

Hes the one who send all the real parts to a random guy he met online off all matching carbines and long lees. Also if it wasnt for him i wouldnt even be into these pre no1mkIII's. He started an obsession for me and for that id buy him a drink.
