I bought 1,000 of Calibers brand 40 cal plated bullets and found they shot very well in my Glock and FNS. They just sent me this email:


After almost two years of producing projectiles for local sport shooters, it has been decided to cease operation as we do not have the available time to keep up with the growing demand.  Even with much of the streamlining we have done, the demand for our product is now getting beyond our capacities to run both our own private businesses and keep up with the ever increasing demand.

We are hoping to find a new home for this turn-key operation, so if anyone that has joined our mailing list, bought product or just know about the company and are interested in carrying on this venture please do not hesitate to contact us.

Three guys with regular full time jobs thought it would be a good hobby business. Orders are big from distributors and individual customers, putting pressure on them to work a lot more hours than they ever wanted.

Someone who wants a business should buy it. $20,000 would do the job.
 
What's your .40s&w load ganderite? Ever try a 155gr or 165gr instead of the usual 180gr? Any preferences?

Pretty interesting business, hopefully someone keeps it alive.
 
Maybe success means making it a full-time job? I know, that just sounds like a silly thing to do...

Too bad, I really like how their 9mm and 45ACP pills shot.
 
We have AIM bullets in Hamilton Ontario and it seems like a similar story with them. It doesn't seem to be a full time job for them yet the many orders in backlog. Their factory space is often not manned and when I called to ask about the .45ACP bullets I liked they said their machinery is in need of being replaced as the old stuff is simply worn out... No idea of when they'll run .45ACP again.

I wonder what "wears out" with lead bullet and plating equipment? I've been casting my own lead bullets on 50-60 year old melting pot and molds.

My M&P liked 3.3 and 3.8 TiteGroup & 155 SWC. I have switched over to using Ramshot Competition. It is between TG and 231 in speed.

The 180 gr PLTD has been very good in Glock 31, Glock 22, FNS 40L. 3.3 gr Comp works well in all 4 pistols.
 
I was down there maybe a month ago and they are definitely replacing the equipment but it's sure as hell not their main objective in life. It's a shame. Their new 40 and 9mm hp and very very nice projectiles and with them being 10 minutes away I would like to use them exclusively but they can't keep up
