Who here actually hunts with their Milsurps?
Honor code is good. Pic's are cool, but we'll take your word...ranges and results are cool too.
I'm at the following
-6.5 x 55 M96, WT buck at 100 paces*
-7.65 x 53 1935 carbine, MD buck at 150 paces ( trotting away from me)
-91/30 ( Bubba scoped), MD buck at 200 paces*
-MK 3 Ross, Elk at 344 yds ( ranged )
SKS ( do they count?) 2 - 3 deer at 100-200 paces. They are like Fat Chicks, don't brag about them...
-8 x 57 K98, my daughter got a lil buck at 150 paces
Nicely Bubba'd 6.5 x 55 M96 took an Elk cow at about 250 paces this year*.
30-40 Krag and Peter the Great are on deck for deer season this year.
Sound off.
Thread search brings pics ( this * ) on about 3 of my list.
Strangely the kills were all 1 shot DRT ( know your limitations ), milsurps got lotsa power...:)

I'm out hunting moose this week at the camp (now with Internet signal!)
Using a Mauser K98 RC capture with yugo crest 8mm

Will be rocking the SKS for deer.

Milsurp rules

I have taken my enfield sporter hunting. Haven't gotten anything with it (or with any other rifles for that matter...) but I have carried it in the bush on a few separate days. Half way there!

I can't even see out to 344 yards anymore :p Great job with that Ross Tokguy!

1952 Tula SKS. 75 yards, heart shot. Blood trail was easy to follow, and he didn't go far ! Hanging weight at the butcher was 206 lbs. !

My first elk was taken with a Hakim in 8mm. I had it scoped with a long eye relief scope, and a bipod. Distance was paced at about 400 yds. One shot broadside through the heart. He wheeled around to run and I quickly fired again at the caboose. Luckily missed that shot, about the same time he went down.
Sure wish I was still in good enough shape to pack that rifle around, lol.

Had to, some Goof winged it. Otherwise I'd have not taken it, too far for my liking.
But it did give me bragging rights that I otherwise wouldn't have I suppose.
Old 303 swatted it down like 'The Hand of God '
180 grain ( flat base for better obturation to the bore) .308 caliber bullet over 38 grains of 4895.
And thanks for the complement BTW

Laugh2...still amazes me that we used to shoot people with that round (and similar 8mm...30-06) Bragging rights are earned, well done!

Nailed my first deer with a No.4 LE in original military configuration. One shot, 140 yds. or so through the lungs and it went down and stayed that way. My eyes, alas, are no longer what they were so everything I hunt with now has glass on it, but 2 yrs. ago I got a nice little 6 point buck with my SKS on a heart shot. I could not believe how quickly that little 123 gr. bullet put it down! It went about 2 meters and dropped so now I'm a believer. I've hunted with my 6.5 Swedish Mauser, and my sporter No.4. All of them shoot good groups with my handloads and I'm fully confident in taking them as game gitters.
