Thank you to all the restoration fellows here, it was my first, and perhaps not last. I am merely glad I could put her back in her wood. Just a note, she is dated 1898, and serial is 545 with an extra stamped 1 infront (possibly a re-serial block to 1545 as the bolt is all matching and is numbered 45 not 545). If not, she is still one of the first 1600 carbines to be built at Carl Gustav's in 1898. She shoots fine btw, as a sporter, I cannot wait to see what re-stocking did to her accuracy someday!
Just a question to the restoration folks here... if you were to want to buy the carbine as she is, with the bayonet, how much would you honestly offer? I am looking for a sort of numerical value I can add in my mind to the carbine's historical and personal value.
