Garand en bloc clips ejecting before all rounds have been fired

I have a Garand that came with several enbloc clips. The markings of the clips were MBZ x 1, and AEC3 x 3.

The finish of the clips on the AEC3 were a bit gritty, and rough. When I used it in my Garand, I won't hear a positive click from the rifle when pushing the en bloc clip down, and stripping a round when pushing the bolt forward was not smooth.

I then proceeded to apply some G96 gun cleaner and used 0000 wool to remove any of the rough spots. The affected clips were still behaving erratically.

I did some search in the net and found that placing the clips in the brass tumbler with some corn media and a bit of polish for a couple of hours actually smoothed out the clips (inner and outer portions).

Now the clips are smoother to load ammunition as well as inserting it into the rifle.

Hope this helps some folks having this issue of the clips ejecting before the rounds are all fired off.

PS. I've also did some prior troubleshooting and investigation before such as field stripping the rifle and cleaning it, greasing critical parts of the Garand, and the magazine channels. Also checked that the clip retainer spring was still good.

Not at all a requirement if your rifle is in good working order and you have good quality enblock clips.
If the enblock is ejecting early, 95% of the time it is likely a worn clip latch or weak clip latch spring. Many times the spring Weill measure within specs, but be weak. AEC 3 - Aggressive Engineering Corp Enblock are absolutely reliable out of the boc.

Load your clips so that the upper round to be loaded first is on the RIGHT side. Very early Garands had problems with the last round in the clip ejecting before it could be loaded.

When loading the Garand, let the bolt come forward with a bit of force, in other words, do no ease the bolt forward on the first round.

Clip Ejects Early:
This malfunction causes a partially loaded clip to eject before all the cartridge are fired. Start by inspecting the clip latch and spring as shown below. Inspect the stock in the area inletted to support the clip latch. If the stock is touching the clip latch arm, enlarge the inletted area until it no longer binds the latch arm.
Clip
Next verify the clip isn't warped or damaged and the notch to retain the clip isn't deformed or damaged.Try using a different clip and see if the problem persists.
Clip
Finish by inspecting the Follower Arm. Verify it's not bent and in spec.

Prior to smoothing out the clips, I noticed that the bolt was not stripping off the first round smooth enough. It seems that the rounds were too tight in the clips.

After the clips being in the tumbler, it was much better.

The follower arm is fine. The only thing that I haven't been able to verify was the stock area inlet.

Per my post, MBZ clip was working fine but not the AEC3 clips. However it seems to be functioning now that the inside and outside finish are baby butt smooth.
