Showoff your SHORTY 12G SHOTTY (14" or under and Mods)!

pavmensurfer , how much length does the breacher add , I like the way you've got it set up with the +1 mag ext , thinking about doing that with a 14" Mossberg , looks nicely balanced .

its approximately 2 inches. Almost exactly the same length as the 1 round extension. I liked this setup because it can be as you see it, or if I really want the shortest possible gun I can remove the extension and breacher and have a gun that is EXACTLY 26.5 inches long.

Thanks for the nice words BTW

14" Mossberg 500 Field "Woodie". Wish I could find some nice Walnut furniture from the "Classic Field" 500.

Heres my latest.
Grizzly 8.5 tube fed
Barrel was threaded for Remchokes, breacher installed
MESA Leo adapter with an MFT Battlelink Minimalist stock
S&J 1 round extension with new spring and no jam follower
Oversized Safety
4 round side saddle, one more round stored in the grip
Vortex Sparc II

Its light, its just a hair over 26.5 inches (with the breacher removed), it shoots great and you can still shoulder and aim it properly with the adjustable stock.

Curious about the capacity of his one - I know you can get 3 into the standard tube if you use the right end cap and do some follower/spring mods, so is this a 3 or 4 round gun? Either way, this is a very cool shotgun.

That's a pretty cool looking shotgun.

I was thinking about the MESA Tactical high-tube adapter, but it's so much more than the regular adapter:

$160 USD is a hard pill to swallow for a beater truck gun compared to about $69USD for the regular one:

Yep...the CTR is a much more shooter friendly choice if you must use AR stock on a shotgun....the minimalist stock is also a real fishhook when handling and scabbarding/packing too.
The CTR with the closed triangle is much more snag proof in this regard.

I like the minimalist on an AR a lot tho....

When was this ordered? I just ordered mine and the description on all the grizzlies say there cylinder bore no choke, despite a ton of people online having chokes... If mine comes and has a choke you'll be able to hear me celebrating across the country. A truglo adjustable or a full would make it a sweet bunny blaster and small game gun, anyone here order one in the recent batch they have in? Did it come threaded for a choke?

That was threaded after purchase - Factory threaded 12 1/2 inch Grizzlies aren't threaded for Remchokes (weird, huh a Remington clone that isn't threaded for Remchokes - iirc they're threaded for Invectors) and I'm pretty sure none of the 8 1/2's are threaded at all. The barrels are plenty thick enough to get them done though.

I met a DEA guy in Florida who was using a Vang Comp modified 14 inch 590 - very interesting shotgun. According to the guy using it, that was how they were issued. I can't see any government body in Canada issuing a customized firearm.

Just curious , What forend is that on the the Mossberg , did you have to mod it to fit the shorter slide ?

No modding; they make 2 sizes of this forend. This is the "ERGO 3-Rail Aluminum Forend 5 13/16" Tube Length - Moss 500/590" ...(with Magpul AFG and LaRue handstop).
