Picked this up recently and took it out today. Remington R1 1911. It has to be bone stock for wild bunch, 7 rd. mag, fixed sights, I even think you have to black out the 3 dot (depends on the club and how closely they follow the rules). Really like it, but don't know why the pic. came out in black and white (new camera and I probably pushed the wrong button somewhere)

That's exactly what I shoot in "Wild Bunch"! It's actually one of my wife's 1911s (the others are SR1911s) and it came out of the box with a superb trigger pull. I prefer it over my R1 and my Gold Cup isn't eligible for "Traditional". All I added was a long trigger.
Yes, you do have to black out the white dots (big deal). It outshoots a lot of vintage 1911s. I'm shooting either 230 RN or 200 SWCs, both with 4 grs Tite Group.
 
It's a side event from cowboy action. It's actually taken from the movie the Wild Bunch from 1969. It takes place around 1910 or so. The west is just about tamed and a bunch of old train robbers go for one last score. They are using period authentic firearms. Wild bunch uses 1911 government pistols, lever rifles, and 1897 pump shotguns
 
Thanks for the info. Never heard of it before, though I've never been into the cowboy action scene. Sounds like a great time.
 
"Wild Bunch" is predicated on the guns of the Mexican Revolution used in the movie. Hence the requirement for a 1911 and the '97 shotgun. Your rifle/carbine must be .40 calibre or larger, which means 38-40/44-40/.44 Spl./.45LC.
What I like about it that it is the closest CAS gets to having a realistic power factor. I suppose you could put limp springs in a 1911 to shoot mouse fart loads, but most also use their 1911s in IDPA/IPSC, so that isn't likely.
Some clubs go "outlaw" and admit ANY period handgun (Colt New Service, Luger, etc.) with a cut off date up to 1914 but may require the use of lead bullets only.

Sometimes I wear a 'Soldier of Fortune' outfit, all khaki, including wool puttees to the knees. My wife has done Mexican 'Soldadera' with straw sombrero, multi-coloured skirt and off-the shoulder-blouse but prefers the white shirt William Holden look with black ribbon bow tie. She shoots "Modern" - two hands with an SR1911 using her IPSC load.
