Why did you separate it from the stock exactly? If its new and stainless steel there is nothing to clean and there is no rust

won't rust? Let me tell you, stainless rusts! Maybe not as easy, but it does. There was post here recently about a guy who's friend packed away his stainless rifle wet, after 1 week or so there was rust and pits everywhere.
You need to separate the action from the stock to clean and oil every now and then. It shouldn't be glued into place.
It would seem that the term "stainless" when used for firearms advertising is suspect. There are different qualities of "stainless". If a magnet sticks to it it isn't very good stainless.
It is very easy to pull a m70 apart with a finger and hardly any grunting.
Unless the parts are glued together.
I have glass bedded dozens of rifles. Most of the rifles I own are Winchesters. A picture is worth a thousand words. This barrelled action was glued to the stock.
