Blued CZ Shadow 2

Does the current urban gray finish look anything like the glossy painted look of the polycoated Shadow or is it closer to that matte nitride finish?

I took this picture last night. It looks pretty much the same in real life.

Thanks. Ah well, guess I'll wait for the black. I thought it was kinda like that dull nitride finish.
Mine is NOT glossy, it is dull nitrate (see below), looks like an FDE finish. I have never seen a glossy one. The finish looks totally different than mine, almost like paint. I wonder why the difference.....

to make paint glossy you need to coat it with some sort of clear coat no?

In my experience (worked as a photographer for many years) I think this is the reflection of something, it could be the light source (flash, flashlight, light box) and I doubt they changed the coatings or finish.

Mine looks flat as well

Hooked said it was glossy finish. Not sure if he saw it in person or by 6MT's photo?

I've seen/handled 3 different urban greys. Two of them from different dealers. My impression was a more glossy than matte (e.g. Cerekote) finish. That's why I decided to wait for a black one. Would prefer a crisper finish like nitride, but sounds like it will be a black polycoat finish.

Guess we're both waiting to see what the new finish on the black/blue are gonna look like. :p

Yeah, s'pose so. I've kinda resigned myself to the fact that the black poly finish on my Shadow 1 was acceptable, so the same finish should be good enough for the new Shadow 2 (it's just that the pics of the black nitride finish looked so good!).

I've actually seen complaints from a few people on the arcore finish guns being too slippery and that they wish they had the same finish as a regular Shadow, can't please em all I guess.

I don't know what they are #####ing about honestly, with the new aggressive checkering there is nothing slippery on the arcore models, at least not where you grip the gun.

I have not heard, or read that anywhere, and I've been researching the pistol like a mofo. I am happy, that people are pushing the urban grey model, so that there will be a shorter lineup for the arcore, when it one day arrives.
