Ok so I had a chance to take the new 22lr skorpion out to the range briefly today.
Shot about 650 rounds off
First impression: this thing is ALOT of fun. I'm not kidding. After my first few mags all I good do is giggle and laugh with excitement.
I brought with me 3 different kinds of ammo I had in hand.
Federal Blue bulk pack -1240 fps
Federal Target- 1200 fps
Remington golden bullets "bucket o bullets"- 1400 fps
Now again this is a brand new firearm, all I did was rack the slide several times and clean/lube it before taking it out.
First ofF was the federal bulk pack, zero issues with it to begin with. Then as the day progressed it was becoming apart that it didn't like this ammo
Second test was federal target loads. This ammo literally turned the skorp into a bolt action. Not enough velocity to cycle the bolt (or it still needs a really good breaking in) so I stopped using this ammo.
Third was the bucket o bullets. (This ammo actually ran the best. I had very minimal stoppages with it). The skorp would just gobbl this ammo up and spit it out. I was very impressed.
After about 400 rnds I was getting the odd stove pipe with bucket o bullets (I'd say about 1-2 every 40-50 rnds). I think it was due to how dirty that ammo is.
A quick field strip, wipe down and she was good to go.
The beauty thing about this toy is the 20 round mags. Just makes those rapid fires oh so fun!!!!!!
Only problem is come about the 14th round loaded in every mag, it was a real PITA to load more. I mean my finger tips are still hurting as I type this.
I managed to get 20 rounds loaded into 3 mags and only 19 rnds in the 4th. I'm sure once it's broken in in would have a problem. .
Another thing is the paint job on the upper reciever, it blows. Literally around d the cocking tabs is nothing but bare metal now. I'll probably end up painting it in time.
So I shot at 25 y (all standing, pistol grip style and rifle style)
I found it to be quite accurate given my fast rate of fire and not really going for the whole "accuracy test"
Now hopefully some dealers get some more spare mags in stock cuz it's a biatch loading 4 mags constantly.
NOW BUY A 22LR SKORPION OR GO TO HELL!!!
