Was watching a video a while back of a guy loading some .303 for his old lee metford and one thing I thought was a nice touch was he packaged it in 10 round packs similar to what they would have done back in the late 19th and early 20th century.
like this:

I figured it might be neat to package my re-loads once I get around to loading all the brass i have collected so I tried with some factory ammo and tried to make a few using Word and it came out alright. a little tricky to get the rounds lined up bit in the video he had a simple jig to help with that. The results were pretty good, and the packs are nice and handy. I changed the wording a little to match whatever ammo would be inside, for example in the spot that said "CORDITE" I put a spot for all the load details. I also used tape instead of twine, don't have that much patience.

Anyone else have enough time to waste to try this lol?

Here are my first successful attempts using some Winchester Soft points. Still playing with the size and such. Going to see if I can find some brown printer paper. I know they are not exact but they were never intended to be. Just inspired by the original I would say.

Top left is the first, then bottom left is the latest. right is the packet I based them off. sorry for the foggy pic, camera lenses was out in the cold so kept fogging up.

That's pretty neat! Thanks for posting pics of your paper packs. Once you get the formula fine tuned, would you share the directions? :)

When we were issued 303 for the Annual match in Ottawa, it had a unique set of stripes, so that it would be obvious if someone was using special ammo.

Once upon a time, the issue 303 ammo was hollow point.

Very nice collection. I think it was the last time you posted those pics is what actually made me want to start collecting these old packs. Picked a few up from a gunshow a while back. I hope to find enough different packs to fill a decent size frame and hang them on a wall.
