New to the world of reloading, I took my first 50 freshly reloaded 9mm cartridges to the range today. They grouped great from seven yards, however the ejection was questionable. Instead of the spent casings heading to 2, 3 or 4 o'clock on ejection, they instead shot up about 6-8 inches and most fell right back onto the pistol or my hands. Two of them barely made it out of the slide, causing it to jam.

From what I can tell, there are no signs of over pressure.

3.6 to 3.8 grains of Titegroup
Fiocchi small pistol primers
Campro plated 124 grain bullets

I've gone up to 4.0 grains of tight group with the campro 124 grn for my 1911 there is no pressure signs and it cycle with no problems. I started at 3.5 grains and worked up it just seemed to like 4.0 . If you do go up just keep an eye on the brass for over pressure. I'm guessing it cycles factory loads just fine ?

too light of a charge.
it needs to over come the force of the recoil spring.. if you get what I mean. if the charge is too light, it wont force the slide back and fully ( properly) eject the rounds. In an old worn out gun, you might find that the recoils seems heavy and the brass goes flying.

Need more powder

also depends on what they are being shot out of, snd the recoil spring weight

Campro data:

4.1-4.4
1.120

Why would you load below minimum according to bullet manufacturer and then ask why it does not cycle?

At least he was smart enough to do a handfull of rounds before doing the whole box of projectiles.

or he'd be doing an all nighter pulling bullets

Not interested in pulling a tone of bullets. That's why I tested this new load again today with 50 rounds. Great accuracy and perfect cycling as well as ejection. Load is 4.1-4.3 grains of Titegroup with the 124 grain Campro plated projectiles. OAL 1.120.

Ordered a baffle and the small cylinder for my powder measure since it's throwing plus or minus 0.2 grains right now.

we buy our bullets at the same place...FOC.
I've loaded 124s and 147s and used the campro data and not a single issue...go up to anywhere between 4.1 and 4.4 (my loader can vary alittle but i aim for 4.3) and letterrip.
