Hello,

We'll strangest thing happened hiking through the bush. My 12" Grizzly shotguns barrel fell out of the rifle. I covered way to much ground through straight bush to try to find it and with already a foot and a half of snow and more coming down its a loss. So do any of you know where I can get just the barrel ?

Thx in advance

After original post note.....this shot gun is great. It's my fault that I did not catch the mag cap was likely lose. No fault of the gun for those that have a doubt of these shooters. They are a great little shot gun.

The barrel fell out of your rifle? You mean it fell out while it was mounted on your shotgun? I'm confused...

I think you gotta wait for can am to have them on sale again. Or get a different brand like nea or dlask

I assume the mag. Cap came off and action became unlocked due to the way I was carrying it on my pack.

If it was transported while mounted, then there's no other way...
quite a succession of particular events for that to occur though...

Ok ! This would be my take . The said grizzly was straped, tied or in a scabord carried by the OP on a back pack . The mag/ barrel nut / Retainer some how became lose and fell off because of the orientation ( the shot gun being carried barrel pointed down) and henceforth no nut to retain the barrel the barrel eventually worked its way lose and sliding off leading to its loss. Now as for the assumption that the barrel nut is also lost that may be be not so if it was the type that has a sling attachment, there for would have stayed attached to the said sling . But keeping in mind that this is all conjecture on my part untill the OP confirms my theorys.:wave:

Oh... I didn't think of the mag cap being retained by a sling... Good call, Grissom. Maybe my flashlight is low on batteries ;)

Canada Ammo out of stock. Some time this year is the ETA. Have not heard back from Dlask Arms yet as to if they have one available. Yup the tube cap is also MIA. looks like a tube cap and barrel is all I'm missing.

...and a wave lock washer, so this does not happen again:

DLASK barrels must be some wildly off spec junk copies.
Real Remington barrels fit just fine

I've never seen a Chinese barrel index correctly on an American receiver. Tried maybe 4 different Chinese barrels on 3 different Remington recievers and they are consistently different. They do "fit" in that you can mount the barrel and fire the gun most times, but the fit is poor in my opinion.

I prefer Chinese barrels, on Chinese receivers.

OP try a wanted to buy in the E.E., if Canam can't help you out. Canam usually seems to have a few spare parts kicking around somewhere....... :)

After reading this, I definitely will not be buying, or shooting, one of these Grizzly guns.

OP, best wishes for getting your problem resolved.

I would not hesitate to buy or own another. I'm not walking on a trail...its straight through some of the nastiest bush you can find. I do not fault the rifle....only myself for not checking the rifle. It really is a fluke as I have carried this shot gun for literally hundreds of days in the bush. Getting another barrel is possible....just be waiting a bit. The Grizzly is a good rifle and the 12"barrel is perfect for carrying in the bush.

You keep referring to it as a rifle, but its a shotgun....

You are likely missing the follower and magazine spring as well.

How much is a new barrel vs a used gun?
Maybe buy a used gun the same as yours, and keep the rest for spare parts, in case anything else falls off while walking in the bush.

Hello,

Sorry to hear about the loss of your barrel and magazine cap.
Unfortunately the Grizzly barrels are currently out of stock. The good news is they are currently on the way to us. Should have them in our hands and available for sale by the end of the month, maybe sooner depending on customs and port delays.
I'm sure we can come up with a magazine cap for you as well from our spares.

Thanks,
Mark
