I just saw these and it occurred to me that it may have a use as a quick deploy truck gun for those "small window of opportunity" shots that coyotes/wolves often give me. I would mount a red dot on it to assist in fast acquisition. Is this a stupid idea? Do these guns work well, or should I just stick to my bolt guns and low percentage of kills. (And I mean LOW)

They work well but I'm not sure it would be my choice.... if I was going to use a 9mm PCC I'd be a cx4. But I think a mini 14 is what you're after or maybe a TAR-21

JUST make sure you got your mag stuffed with black talons if you want a "kill" wicked gun by the way I've shot 1000s of rounds thru mine without any malfunctions or issues....I'm talking the cheapest dirtiest ammo money can buy.....these are available at Kelly's online for 1399.99.....might buy a second as these come and go and getting rarer and rarer to find

I think a 40S&W Storm with 10 rounds in it would be the cats ass for <100m shots on small game....

I had a .40s&w cx4 converted by dlask before you could get factory NRs. It was awesome... truthfully I prefer the factory 9mm but if I was using it for hunting I might change my mind. It's nice to use the fourtay mags in the nine and the barrel is lighter.

It truly would be for those type of shots that I see once or twice a year on the portages of the ice roads up to the diamond mines. I have missed 3 wolves over the past few years due to cumbersome rifles that were "all tangly" in the truck cab. I often see them "cross the road" on the portages. You might get a 5-10 second window to get the truck stopped, jump out, load the gun, #### it, and aim. It was a bit much with the scoped rifles I always bring. The amount of time I spend on 20 mile long lakes where a long shot is normal is much more than the quick land connections between lakes. I'd like a short, quick follow-up shot, low-recoiling rifle that I can mount a holographic sight or red dot on. This would ride along with me in the truck AS WELL AS a scoped rifle for the lake shots. I have no qualms about using a good 9mm round for a wolf at 25 yards. I am just looking for opinions if you guys think I could "deploy" this gun quicker on these types of shots than a scoped gun. I don't want to spend $1500 on a gun I don't know much about. Actual user experience is sure great. Thanks all for your opinions so far. How easy are these to mount an electronic sight on?

For your purposes i'd go with Mini-14. They're a little more expensive now because of our ####ty dollar but they're short, pack a punch, reliable, quick and easy to load and the newer ones are pretty accurate. They usually come with a rail you can mount to affix a red dot to if you'd like. The .223 is no slouch at 25 yards and you could stretch things out a bit if you wanted to. And you would probably be a little more comfortable with that than a 9mm if a 100 yard shot presented it self.

Do they make 40 SW in NR form these days?

If not, and Sgt Rock okay with a 9mm (with a good bullet and reasonable range, I don't see why it wouldn't work) The Beretta Storm is very accurate, very quick to load, uses 10 round Beretta pistol magazines and topped with a red dot is very fast. Beginners have no trouble shooting 8" gongs at 100 with elbows rested with them. The stock trigger takes abit to get accustomed to, but 9mm ammo is cheap. Very handy rifles.

I don't know anything about the Uzi style rifle, sorry.

Keltec sub 2000. Half the price and can fold for less space when needed. For driving keep it ready. My buddy has one and it shoots very well with a cheap red dot on it
I'm interested in a white 40 SW Jrc for wolf and coyote for when I call in thick bush

The sub2k also takes 10 round mags also vs the 5 the BRS-99 has. Also, very common mags (glock 17).
