Grizzlies come to elk call

Me and a buddy were bow hunting for Elk a couple years ago and had a similar thing happen but with a black bear. It was actually kind of funny as we were set up in a clearing not far apart and I made a cow call and out of no where this black bear came running in wide eyed to the sound. I looked over to at my buddy and he was snoozing and didn't see it until I got his attention!
The bear was about 20 meters away when it saw us and then he turned around and high tailed it out of there as fast as he came in.
It was kind of exciting but I'm sure glad it was a black bear and not a Griz! Never did get an elk to come in that day......
 
I've had Black Bears come charging in to a predator call while Coyote hunting. The damn thing didn't realize what I was until it stopped 20 yds from me. I put my first shot in front of it kicking up dirt and mud in it's face. It decided it was time to get out of Dodge. The second shot was aimed dead on if it kept coming. There was no open season at the time,either. I was lucky it stopped and turned. Scared the chit out of me.
 
I've had black bears come to an elk call as well....the one time it was a very persistent black, ended up having to use one of my tags on it.
 
Idaho was losing a lot of elk calves to black bears until they opened up more seasons on the predators.Harold
 
I moved to Alberta a few years ago.
I have concluded that when hunting in griz country, it is prudent to be loaded for bear.
The elk don't seem to mind...
It provides a level of comfort.
And when coupled with a certain humility, we humans can successfully coexist with all of the other alpha predators.

One of those guys is Réal Langlois , "The Rack Man" so at least 2 of them have been in grizzly country before, the guy crying is his first encounter with a grizzly. I've only seen grizzly bears from a truck. I can't say how I would react having 3 run at me for the first time...hope I wouldn't cry like that, especially with someone filming but I can understand it being an incredible adrenaline rush to someone.

Been "communication" charged by a sow grizzly, she's locally infamous and became my outfitting operation's logo. You quite frankly don't have time to get scared til after and it really puts it in perspective how useless a gun is in most grizzly charges. Fortunately charges are a normal means of communication for Grizzlies, running you off food or attempting to, plain telling you to piss off, and almost all are not a committed attack. Should be called a communication charge not a bluff. Haven't seen the vid in this thread but from the commentary sounds like a couple of the guys had been through it too, you can't shoot Grizzlies for it just their nature.

Yup. This happened last time I went hunting to the Kootenays. The uncle shoot a nice bull elk and not even 15 minutes after, the grizzly comes loping over a small crest. We kept it at bay by revving the quad. I'm guessing the bear thought the quad was bigger and badder....

Unless I'm missing something (which is entirely possible) I see a sow with two yearling cubs.
