Sierra Gamekings any good?

I shoot a gameking out my 30-06. Very accurate and works well. Killed moose, elk, bear, deer. 180 grain work very well

not bonded. They used to pour the cores with molten lead rather than a preformed core, the newer (last 10-15yrs production) no longer use the Hot-Cor method.

I think they still use the hot-core process, but dropped the "dual core" method of manufacturing. The old bullets use to have a harder lead base, with a softer lead nose....kind of a poor mans partition lol.
This quote is from 2010 though...
With the exception of those in .24 and .25 caliber, which always featured a one-piece core, original Grand Slam bullets had a two-piece core with the rear being harder than the front. Now, Grand Slams feature a three-component core that is poured into the gilding-metal jacket and flows into a heel pocket. Essentially, the Hot-Cor process, along with the added mechanical lock (at the heel) and thick shank, results in 80 to 85 percent weight retention.

you're right Hitzy I forgot that dual core hardness. I don't pay Speer much attention these days

If deer and animals of similar size are on the menu, then there is nothing wrong with Gamekings. Very accurate and tough enough for the soft-skinned game. For moose and elk, I would step up the bullet toughness a bit as that is where the bonded bullets really shine.
