So early Sunday morning (thanks time change), My wife and I were eating breakfast, I saw some deer out in the field and thought nothing of it (they are always there), Coyotes on the other hand... well lets just say we have a pretty bad problem with them, from eating cats, chickens and other livestock, to just general terrorizing. There is a lot of em around my place, and while i've never set up to shoot em, I've taken shots and killed them when I can.

Anyways my wife spots it, I grab a gun run out there set up, he's already at 200 yds (started at 50 yds... fast little buggers) he's trotting along so I lead him a bit and take the shot. BAM one shot one kill right in the boiler room, he dropped on the spot and rolled around. Needless to say I'm pretty happy with my new little yote gun :D

He's got a real nice coat so not even an hour later he was at the taxidermist, he's gunna make a really nice hat :D
 
For skinning and tanning, it's going to cost me $200, for making the hat, I dont know yet but my guess is around $200, so all in around $400 is what I'm estimating? once i get the pelt back we'll see

Nice job! $200 to skin it? I hope that includes the tanning? I have a friend in Nipawin that makes hats and gauntlets from beaver, coyote etc. They are nice and warm on a winters day.

Thanks :D It was fun I'd like to shoot more, anyone know if theres trappers or someone I can give them to?

yeah thats 200 skinned and tanned, you'll have to PM his number, I'd like to see some of his work too, I think I want a mountain man hat :D
