Kuiu is having a 30% off pack sale

Bin looking at Seek outdoors packs and ther ultralight hot tents the USD is brutal
For now a Sako carbon light in 308 is on the menu
The ultralight pack and tent will be next and then a Packrarft
Next year is going to be awesome with the ultralight hunting gear

A Kimber Adirondack isn't a bad choice either in case you're open to suggestions for a 308 lightweight.

I haven't had the pleasure of handling a Kimber Adirodack I want to go with a 308 because of the versatility
In my situation I have set a personal goal to do all the hard hunts I have spent my life dreaming about well I'm still healthy my back is getting tired and old I know if I don't do them soon it not going to happen
There is no sense at my age to pack a heavy rifle and heavy camping gear up in the mountains or deep in the bush
After all you have to pack everything in and out with you plus whatever you harvest

In my Younger days a trapper Nelson pack and my 22 or a old Lee Enfield was all I needed I seeped under the trees scavenge for food as I went , it was awesome but I'm starting to pay the Price and soon it will be just ATV and road hunting for this old guy but not yet I'm going to Live it up well I still can

They supplied me with an Icon 7200 at cost, full disclosure for bias. Very good pack, they understand what light is. Do note the gear is almost wholly made in China, though the quality is equal to most high end mountaineering brands (many of which are also now made in China). It's a light and comfortable pack but I would put it below my arcteryx for compartments / layout, and fit. The 7200 is very much a bulk pack, with little compartmentalization. It works well with the meat web for packing out game, or bringing in a large bulk load.

It's a nice rifle and you can find it for $1.5K less that than the sako. I bought a brand new one with rings from the exchange for $2K. I really like it. It points well and it's as light as a feather. I have never held or shot the sako so I can comment on it.

I appreciate the feedback. Looks like I made a wise decision. My sole reason for purchasing the icon 7200 was for the weight saving and packing ability. Coincidentally, I also have an Arcteryx pack (I think it's an Altra 85). I love it for hiking and snowshoeing.

Do you know how the Kuiu rain gear compares to arcteryx? Is the fabric a bit quiter?
