I recently picked up a Savage MK II and wanted to see how well she'll group with some higher end ammo. I'm getting some decent groups at 50 yards but want to know how much tighter the groups would be with better ammo. I looked at Tesro and Nordic but they're out of the ones I want to try (Lapua center-x). Anyone care to share other Canadian rimfire retailers who you recommend I try? I would understand if you want to keep it a secret but I want to see what more consistent ammo will do :) Thanks in advance.

Did you try Target Shooting Products?

SK and Lapua are in very short supply all across Canada right now, Center-X is all sold out. You might find a couple bricks of Midas + or X-Act. Target Shooting Products has a good stock of RWS and Eley.

I have not seen Lapua products at Cabela's.
Their Eley Match and Tenex are grossly overpriced because they are getting them through Ktroh.
Federal Match 922A is normally $20, was on for $13, $15 and last I saw was $17. It is made by RWS to R50 standards.
From my BSA Martini it shoots as good at RWS R50. Unless there is a bullet on the box with the word "MATCH" inside the bullet it will be made by Federal. There are two grades of Federal Target and one is standard velocity and the other HV. Neither performs to the Federal MATCH,
My CZ455 Varmint prefers CenterX over the Federal Match.
Call Target shooting Products and talk directly with Peter . . . he will tell you what he has and if there are any deals to be had.
I looked at Nordic the other day and would venture a guess they are working through the over priced product being distributed by Ktroh.

Where did U get the BSA Martini?!? I've just seen this rifle for the first time tonight, they look fantastic. Any idea where to get such a thing!??

Bought on CGN EE. The first looker and I took it.
They show up occasionally. There are 5 Int'l models.
There is lots of research and Rimfire central has a dedicated section with lots of information.
Mine has worn a Leupold BR36 but it would appear to have earned the target sights which is addictive especially at 100 yards and meters.
Try the WTB on the EE and be the first to the EE sites for Rimfire and Precision.
Since my entry was to the BSA Martini Int'l Mk II I have no real desire to venture into the III, IV and V series at this time. They are pretty rare and the prices have gone up since I got mine. Some of the earlier models (8, 12 and 12/15) command prices that I believe are too high probably because I know what I paid for mine. If every thing is factored in there has been about $1000 added to the original purchase.

The new supply on lapua and sk is supposed to arrive sometime this month. In the mean time you could try a few boxes of sk pistol match, available from Hirsch and prophet river. To bad your not close as I would lend you some sk std or center x
