I am really digging my Benelli M4 and now that I have decided I am going to keep it. I am looking to upgrade it.

I really want to put a light on it. I saw pics of a surefire forend light, but I cannot find it for sale. I really do not want a railed forend.

What are you guys running for a light?

Anyone know where I can find the surefire light?

Also, What kind of sling setup does everyone have on their M4?

And Lastly, what brand do you guys recommend for a upgraded bolt release and charging handle?

From my perspective, the following mods are best.

Charging handle - GG&G is a good one, Daves Machine Shop is another. Believe S&J hardware makes one as well. All very similar - but all a big improvement over stock.
Bolt release - two options really. GG&G one (I have it) is pricey, but it's a full replacement. Taran Tactical and others make one that you tap the existing button and screw on the 'oversized' piece. No experience with those, but the GG&G one is worth the money.
Mag tube - Again lots of options, but I got mine from CCTS - loads 6 x 2 3/4.
Oversized safety - tons of different versions - all do the same thing. Totally worth it again.
Field stock - personal preference, but better than the extending stock for me.

The BEST upgrade I did was a Scalarworx RMR top rail. Allows true co-witness of the ghost rings, which I find are hard to shoot quickly. I have a green triangle RMR and it's the tits. Amber dot would be great as well.

Flashlight - I'd use a mag tube clamp style. S&J sells one that is very effective and low profile... you don't want a section of rail, which then need a light mount as well. Too bulky and snaggy.

I got mine all done at TacOrd

my bolt handle/release and everything else on the shotty that can be modded is taran tactical, with a mesa side saddle and TacOrd extended tube paired with Vortex Venom. I did have a RMR but the bright orange is way too bright, as for light I mount a Fenix PD35 with a pressure switch from my surefire light. Sling option is Black hawk shotgun sling with 15 shell pocket or my MS3 with the tab attached on the rail

Of course someone will ask...

Where did you get the surefire foreend?

I've tried two different railed forends and keep coming back to the stock. No one needs that much rail on a shotgun - period. Flashlight sure - but there are other and better ways to mount it.

AFG or VFG or whatever on the end are useless (for me anyway). Look cool I guess - but adds weight and sharp edges.

Tried the afg route it feels weird went back to the rail as it fits my hands better and with the rubber rail cover there are no issues, I still have the stock foregrip with match saver attached to it

Dark Tungsten, this one was done by Canadian Tactical finish, the Benelli M4 is done by Tacord. I have one of Casey Versamax inbound to match the M4, I'll use teh Versamax for my 3 gun and keep the M4 for range fun and as back up for the 3gn

Good luck with that, I tried getting them in half a year or a year ago, and they had no interest in becoming ITAR registered. Even IRG wouldn't bother dealing with them.

That prompted me to start prototyping these little fellas but I haven't had time yet to get a steel prototype made and see if it's strong enough or if it needs to be beefed up.

The plastic 3D printed prototype works great, it can be fitted with the prongs facing forwards, backwards and oriented up or down.

I have the picatinny rail piece mounted to the handguard hanger here, but this wouldn't be needed if you were using a light up top. Also thinking about making a version with 2 Mlok slots on each side so you could use lights and sling mounts.

Currently the GG&G or BLAM mounts are the easiest but you're lacking a sling point on the BLAM mount.

if you have a full file or cad drawing, send it to us, we would lazer cut nthat out of sheet 4140 and bent it to shape.
could have it heat treated and nitrided so it was stiff and hard
