First AR.. Read the threads. Read reviews.

What other types of guns do you have? Or tend to lean to?

E.g. If you have sig pistols and trust they're reliability and accuracy, grab an M400 or 516

Have an FN pistol? Try a Fn-15

If you've already established trust with a manufacturer, makes sense to stay with them

At least you'll have some piece of mind if you're wary of what company to go with

My $0.02

I hear ya sasquatch. I'm not a black rifle guy. I trust glock.. They don't make Ars. I like Remington but not their Ars. I think I'm going colt. The ones I've handled are nice. Gotta start somewhere.

FN is the current supplier to the US military if that matters to you.

Building will always be cheaper but you'll have a lower resale if you ever get rid of it. I would always build but parts are cheap here and you save on sales tax by buying out of state.

EE goes in waves you might notice a lot of DD Mk18 now, it was ACR a couple of months ago and Swiss Arms before that, there is nothing to fret over.

UPDATE - Alright. I bought a Colt 6920 (Thank you Rally_Guy) Im playing around with optics for it. I picked up a couple options.
I love this thing. First AR and now im already shopping around for a second... I digress..
My question is, What are you guys shooting more 5.56 or.223? Aside from the cost differences, what gives the best accuracy? Im not going to start buying match grade to dump down range but I am going to put a variable optic on and try some 100-300 yard bench shooting. Is there a big difference in accuracy between the 2 rounds?

Thanks!

Congrats.....it's addicting.

The cheaper the better.....they are all range queens. 5.56 is a little hotter than .223 but for the range/3 gun/etc. you won't notice a huge difference. This is in my experience....YMMV.
