I've got some Hornady .312 174gr BTHP's on their way to me. Having a little trouble finding load data for IMR3031. Any info / experience appreciated.

I think IMR3031 might be a bit too fast of a burn rate for the .303. I can't find loads for it either. I would pick Varget. Loads for that at Hodgdon.

Your source? Sorry, but I would absolutely never load a cartridge with an un-referenced load off an internet forum.

There you go again, Ron AKA. Ganderite is about as knowledgeable as they come with powders. The quote he gave is well within safe pressure limits in the 303.
I suggest you just sit back quietly and watch....your posts are not helpful at all. Eagleye.

The Lyman 44th edition shows loads for 180Gr bullets and 3030 at 35-39Gr

So I'd say Ganderite is right on the money for a Safe functional load.

Imr 3031 is more than suitable when using boat tail bullets in the 303 Brit. If u follow Hodgdons formula for reducing loads using h4895 you can make some accurate low recoil loads as well.
