Unissued Luger?

Any story attached to this one?

In 1974 I was doing some work for Robinson's in Victoria BC. They received a shipment of supposedly unissued P08 pistols with matching accessories. These were in a separate crate from the main order which was a bunch of issued pistols, still in their holsters with spare mags but the whole crate was floated to the top in cosmoline. Guess what my "work" was.

I never got a chance to purchase one of those fantastic pistols as they were all sold within a few hours of arrival. I don't know the whole story behind those pistols but the one I was allowed to look at was wrapped in brown grease paper in a black box with a white interior. Both mags which matched the pistol were in a separate box as were the loading tool and holster. The holsters were all brown in color from what I remember. The price on these pieces was about 10 times that of the issue pieces. Well worth it IMHO.

If that holster were brown I would suggest it might be part of that batch. Likely there were other such batches available at the time.

That is a nice story. Thanks!

No story attached to this one....a walk in at at a gun store where it was a consignment item......

Fantastic find, it is a shame that most of Canadians are deprived of being able to possess such historical artefact ever. P08's should be exception to barrel length rule just like snail drums are exception to magazine capacity limits.
