hello
im new to reloading 8mm mauser,

8mm bullets are .323 dia, and i see that 32 spl are .321

so
in a pinch can i use the 32 spl bullets , i understand they may be slightly less accurate .

similar to using 308 bullets in a 303 brit.

will be for target use out to 100--200m

thanks any reply thats helpful most welcome.

Normally when fired a flat base bullet will conform to bore diameter.

I loaded 30-30 170 grain bullets in my 30-06 03-A3 with a worn oversize .311 bore and they shot very well.

30-30 bullets have a softer lead core and when kicked in the seat of the pants will conform to bore diameter.

ok good info but geeting a little off topic ..........
question is-

What the guys are telling you is, the lightly built 32 Special bullet, designed to expand at 30-30 velocities, will expand to perfectly fit the slightly larger bore. When powder is ignited things happen very rapidly. Even with the stoutly built military 303 bullet, when it is fired in a military rifle, the base of the bullet starts to move before the tip moves!
The 32 Special bullet will be sized to fit the bore, by the time it is completely in the rifling. Thus, it becomes a perfect bullet for the barrel and could easily be one of your most accurate bullets for the 8mm.

Answer.......yes it will work fine ...........However you may find that the bullets fall into the cases when you go to seat them. If this happens then just remove the expander ball and decapping stem and run them through the sizer die again. Unless you have 32 spl or 32-40 dies then you can use that expander ball and stem in your 8X57 dies.

Tradex, a site sponsor here, usually has lots of 8mm bullets though and probably cheaper than the .321 bullets you are looking at now..........
