M95... Post your photos ! :)

From what I understand there were only about 5000 Brno marked M95s made.... never actually seen one for sale so no idea on the value but I'd go for it.

Edit: John from Marstar has one listed at $525... I wouldn't pay anywhere near that for your average Steyr or Budapest but given the rarity I could see it. YMMV.

That's the one I have my eye on. Very tempted. Looks to be in fine condition.

In spite of the whole T2 Garand thing, I've bought a few guns from John personally through Marstar and never been disappointed in the gun - he's not the easiest guy to deal with and doesn't tend to answer emails in a timely manner, but when the guns arrived I had nothing to complain about. I know a lot of people will tell you not to deal with him but I figure that's a decision you should make for yourself.

If you really want a collectible Brno M95 I'd say go for it. In fact I might be tempted myself if I hadn't spent too much gun money in the last few months. That said, if you just want a representative / shooter M95 you could probably find a Steyr or Budapest for half that price without too much looking. I picked one up a Bulgarian refurb Budapest true carbine for $200 out the door at last year's Brandon gun show and had a choice of a few.

Well I stand corrected on the AOI rifles - that was based on my personal experience but interesting to hear others have been different.

So I was able to dug out six rifles/carbines that still are in 8x50 and inspected them again. No AOI, no stars, just one has Bulgarian pine cone on the stock (and other Bulgarian treats). But it's very interesting observation of yours, hopefully eventually I will find AOI marked rifle to add to my collection, so far I handled only one sportster.

I've purchased a few very fine milsurps from John, and I have never been disappointed. The last rifle I purchased, a Venezuelan Short Rifle (FN model 1930 M98) was museum quality.

I acquired this Bulgarian rework long rifle this summer. Wasn't looking for one, and the carbines don't do much for me personally, but when this long rifle crossed my path I had to have it.

It's funny but there was a (relative) flurry of M95s on the EE about the time I bought mine and not as much since.

They exist in a relative obscurity still, kind of like Carcanos and Berthiers they have an oddball attractiveness to them.
