eh maybe not.
This deer stands up out in the bog, it must have been there all along. I figure if the deer can get there I should be able to too. (not so much)
Anyway, as a bit of insurance, I wait until he stops before jumping in the water to cross the creek. and shoot him there.
Good thing I did When I attempted to walk out there, I couldn't get within 30 yards of him. It's a floating mash, and the further out i got the mushier it got until you couldn't tell when you were going to break through. all the bushes around are waving up and down with each of your steps, and water is welling up. I wonder how deep it is underneath?
So back to camp for the trappers punt I go.

Busting ice and pushing over four beaver dams, more poling than paddling it's 200 yards from the stand.
When I found him i could not stand beside him, so he came back with me guts in.
