Anybody disappointed in the Shadow 2?

I want to love mine as I do my Shadowline but had a weird problem right out of the gate which is disappointing. Took it to the range once, shot a box through it, took it home to clean, then realized it was missing the barrel bushing. It either fell out (hard to imagine that) or was never there from the factory (if it will even shoot like that, anyone know?). So,... Now I am in warranty purgatory, who knows how many months that will take...
Anyway, check your guns when you get them guys, I feel foolish if it was never there, didn't realize it and I shot it anyway...

If you can, go back to the range and look for it. Look right in front of where you were shooting and downrange about the 20 yard mark. What were your groups like when you were shooting? If they were about what you normally do then it likely did not fall out at the range. I had a bushing go to never never land with one of my CZ's and noticed right away. The gun fired but the bullets were going all over the place. I didn't find mine but I have found other gun parts smaller than the bushing just by accident One was a small medallion from my Beretta Stampede's grip a year later!

Take Care

Thanks Bob,
I did go back but didn't think to look beyond 5-10 yards out, I will look again. Anyone else find a bushing at the Abby pistol range?
Groups were a little off but thought it was just me and a new pistol.

what bushing? are we talking about the slide release lever?

No, the actual sleeve inserted at the end of the slide that the barrel goes through. I didn't even think they were removable, on my Shadowline it is in so rock solid I thought it was part of the slide.

The bushing is held in by the roll pin that also holds the front sight in place. Mine went down range when I replaced my front sight and din't think I needed the roll pin to hold in place. Wrong!

I am surprised how few folks who own CZ's are not aware the gun has a barrel bushing.

I didn't buy one, as I'm not good enough of a shooter to need one, but handling one at the store just didn't feel good.
The grip was too aggressive on the rear. The checkering was too sharp below the beaver tail for me. It felt bulkier in the hand.
Maybe the when the Shadow 3 comes out....

Mine came in the mail today, it fits pretty well, but I can't get enough of my finget on the trigger for a da pull, with out adjusting my grip.

Is there a way to move the trigger slightly towards the rear?

As have already said in this forum, I like the looks of the Shadow 1 better. A guy at the range let me shoot his Shadow 2 last week. My preference still goes to the SP-01 Shadowline. I should add that I don't do IPSC, I just target shoot.

Regarding the bushing, we have magnets on the ranges at Abby, take the time to go all the way to 25m using them (they roll) as well as 10m either side of you. It could have gotten kicked etc. I have a bushing for a Shadow from Cajun Gun Works, not sure if it would work in the 2, I'll have to check. It's also a match bushing, so tighter than the normal one. I can probably source a regular bushing if you can't get anything from warranty. Is you front sight still there?

As for guys not liking them, honestly, it's like women, some guys like em skinny, some like em fat, and so on. Guns are the same. And just like women, once you get them home and try them out, they aren't necessarily what you wanted or thought you were getting. I have no issue with guys not liking the Shadow 2 at all, what is important is that they find something they do like, and have fun with it.

I remember seeing the bushing in one of slavex pics a long time ago, but I did not think it belonged to the Shadow 2, it is to tightly in place that never suspected that is was removable.

I'm disappointed I couldn't get it earlier when the pictures originally went online.
And disappointed at how many rounds I have been shooting through it, because I'm going to have to load more soon.

But no, I'm not disappointed as I bought the pistol for IPSC.

This may be in the running for best post of 2016 :)

Thanks, good point re magnets, I will double check. Even if I find it, will still have to source a roll pin. The front sight is still on. If the warranty folks fail me, I may be asking again for help sourcing a bushing. Appreciate your point about women and guns, I'm of the school that likes most women and most guns. The CZ2, for the little time I got to shoot it before my problem, was very nice, still like my Shadowline but didn't get a chance to really compare the two.

Noticed the aggressive cheese-grater style rear/front grip too. Definitely doesn't move but uncomfortable for me.
Note: Haven't been to the range yet. My wife says I have softer hands than she does. ;)

Half cocked position. One click of the hammer back. (Still gives DA pull.)

You can't start half cocked in IDPA SSP Division either. Hammer must be fully down. I am not sure what real benefit there is doing the half #### routine either. If the pull is shorter or lighter It isn't something I have been able to notice.

Take Care

uh....the question was how to shorten the DA pull. Nothing was asked about IPSC or IDPA rules.
