Hornady Interlock and SST.....same point of impact?

For hunting my Interbonds and SST's shoot similar out to like 300, not sure after that. I have not tried the Interlocks. How far are you shooting??
 
I will sight 2.5" high at 100m. That should be dead on at about ? 230-250m if i recall from the ballistic tables.

Most shots on game will be within 200m.

Haven't started working up a load yet. I have sst's and interlocks, both 130gr, and will get some premium 130gr bullets to try as well.
 
Statistically, they are unlikely to have the same PoI. It could happen, but this also depends on what you defined "very close" as. Any difference is unlikely to be dramatic, maybe 2-3" at most.
Or you can get lucky and they shoot identically. Only way to know is to try 'em.

How Far? My range is limited at 300 yards. But during testing of 300 yards (steel and paper) my reloads hit hair over MOA for groups of 5. This was in prep for my goat trip this year. I ran with 300 yards being my maximum tolerance for an accurate shot.
 
I would think at 300 yards, they would be close. I have Interbonds for the close stuff, but my rifle is set for the SST's out to 650. I had to use the SST's at 75 yards this year. I was worried but it turned out ok.
 
If you do careful measurements of bullet diameter to the tenth of a thou, and measure the base to ogive dimension what you will find is that there will be variations from lot to lot of what is sold as the same bullets. So I don't think you can make any generalizations on whether this bullet will shoot the same as this other bullet. It may, or may not depending on lot number, and the actual dies used to form the bullets. The only sure way to tell is to shoot the bullets from the specific lots you want to compare.

The only way to answer this question is to try them both to see how they act. One poster on here had SSTs print 4" lower than several other bullets he tried.
Every rifle will act somewhat differently, so it is a matter of trying them both to see what will happen. No one can tell you on here exactly what to expect. Dave.

Only testing will tell. They may have the same POI, or similar, or close enough it doesn't matter, or astonishingly different. Your results may be similar to others who have tried, or quite different from someone else's results. You cannot know before hand, so you MUST try some out before you take shots at living things with them. Changing components in any way means you will need to actually shoot them to see what happens.

Once again Dave speaks nothing but the truth! There is no magic formula to calculate where any given bullet will land at any given distance out of any given firearm other than actually shooting.
