I was wondering what seem to be consencus about the PR barrel in a bolt action ?

Only want to know about a performance standpoint, i know they are pricey.

Have run the Proof and Hardy carbons. Hate chambering the Proof stuff as they are so soft...16 to 20 Rockwell as the norm. They do shoot well though but are typically longer to settle in though. The Hardy are 29 to 30 Rockwell so much like a typical Kreiger or Bartlein. They shoot very well out of the gate and tend to put a better length of workable steel on each end as well compared to the Proof which is nice for brakes and as well as more room to work with in the lathe. I prefer the Hardy profile and the carbon is a true looking carbon as a apposed to the Proof. If I were to pick to run one on a personal gun I would go Hardy as I like the look and I am the monkey that has to chamber it too and they are much nicer to work with on the lathe.Hardy come fast too..typically only a few weeks to get. Good luck with it Charles with what ever one ya go with.

Furtaker, thanks a lot for the feedback !

I will give a call to Hardy.

Looking forward to send you those parts for my build.
