Hoping that someone could shed some light on an unusual 2 3/4" 20ga. This one's receiver is void of any engraving, no wavy lines around the edges and no scroll work. Right side has Belgian proofs between the bolt release button and the front of the receiver. Left side says Twenty and Browning in the usual spots but where JMB bust would normally be, FN appeares inside a circle. Serial number is 1ZFN 33905. Butt, black annodized aluminum trigger group and barrel are serialized to the gun. The barrel is vent ribbed and an unusual 26 1/4" long. No barrel legend on the right side, left side two line legend Fabrique National D'armes De Guerre . Herstal - Belgique. The lower line says * Acier Special - C20 - Cart 2 3/4".
Does anyone have any insight? I'm guessing that it was manufactered in 1961 but unsure of the model and how many were produced. I suspect that its a European market gun and not an ultralight weight. This one weighs 6.4lbs according to my fish scale. Butt has a square cavity behind the black plastic butt plate. Was expecting horn but it is plastic and is a perfit stock fit. Wish that I could figure out how to post pics. Thanks again! Bill
