Really depends on the weather. Some of my best duck hunts have been the last day of the season (early January) other years you are lucky to find anything worth hunting early December...very dependent on the weather.
Tie those white pricks up until I can get my white rig in order Brad!
I might jump on that also, the flights are slow here and the east winds are killing me.
Hey, if Superbrad is able to provide coordinates to a public launch and can point us to the right direction as to where the birds are located, would anyone be seriously interested in doing a hunt? I've never shot snows but would love to give it a go! Although its been a great Mallard season for me, the diver duck and canada goose season has been awfully slow! I wouldnt mind adding some snow goose meet to the freezer! Glengarry is about 4 hours away from me on a good day, so its not something I would want to venture at alone.

If you'll be in this neck of the woods make sure you let me know and I'll buy ya a beer. Always nice to meet people in person

Pfffft....... spread....... they roost here by the thousands...... I usually tow in a canoe the day before and leave it stashed in the woods, then sneak in before first light....... when the first group takes off and the first shot gets taken, that's when the madness begins!
Sounds like a real challenge.........![]()

Depending on timing I might be in.... I have a 16 foot Scott Deep Duck, with wrap around blind, Canada floaters and lots of old Herter's solid foam magnum diver (Goldeneye, Bluebill and Bufflehead) dekes... it is a good 6-7 hours for me but I would probably do that... for a two day shoot... If you can only do a one day trip, I don't mind hunting solo for the rest. Shoot me a PM.
I can add another dozen canada floaters and a dozen buffleheads. The rest of my decoys consist of approximately 26 puddle ducks which really wont be needed in this case. As for boat, my current hunting rig is a 12' aluminum, but I still have a 15ft deep v widebody if the body of water calls for something larger then a 12' tinny
Now this is what the CGN hunting forum is about. Getting together with good folks with common interests and making new friends while enforcing some populatiin control on over abundant species. Now get out there and slaughter a pile of snows fellows and lets have one cool hunting story thread that doesn't involve forensics and bullet analysis. That crap isn't hunting stories, that #### belongs in the ammo or reloading forums. I wish I could join you. If Super could get you on a feeding field and I was able to make it I would at least have 23 dozen Snow and Blue decoys to contribute.![]()

I have killed my limit on the last day more than a few times, like BUM says depends how much time you put into it and if things turn cold or not. Also like Coach Zed said, here in NB we have two zones, where I live things will be done December 18, on the coast near him we have another few weeks after that and then a later Seaduck season for Eiders, Scotters, Longtail ducks and Mergansers. I hear chasing them can be an exceptionally good time but have never met up with anyone interested having me join them for a shoot, although the Bay of Fundy in January/February can be a dangerous mistress.
