Show us the mods on your Tikka rifle !

I always liked Finnish rifles, especially Tikka's.
Did you know that Tikka is Finnish for Woodpecker ?

There is alot of aftermarket parts, especially for the T3 and it could be nice if you show us the mods on you Tikka.

It could be anything, Chassis, Bedding, Bolt Shroud, Bolt Handle, Aftermarket Stock, Re-Barrel, etc...

Older models and T3X are also more than welcome !

Please include the details of what you have done on your rifle, manufacturers of parts, etc...

I put this together with a new Tikka T3 Compact in 308(20" barrel), picked up a new McMillan Hunters Edge stock on the EE and a Leupold VX-3. It weighs 6 3/4lbs with one in the chamber and a full mag.

Fresh pillar and arcaglas bedding job from a very reputable gunsmith on my 595 Master Continental HB ( .243 win ).

The Master Continental have the same barreled action than the Master Sporter but with a classic stock.

I also sent my bolt body for fluting and I will order a bolt shroud.

It's a poor man's mountain rifle. Very handy yes, but not done yet. Going to replace the bolt shroud and bottom metal with Mountain Tactical parts, shorten the barrel to 18.5" and likely going to cerakote the whole thing.

not a precision tacticool sniper rifle, but I put a McMillan Sako compact stock on my t3 223 8 twist. CoreTac bolt handle and aluminum shroud, metal trigger guard. I have one of the Waters australian 10rnd mags now too

Also in the process of tweakin' a Tikka t3X for my buddy. Benchmark 23" 8 twist #3 contour in 280 Ackley, in a McMillan Edge. ETA spring 2017

I like your trigger guard ( and the whole rifle as well ), who make them ?

How is the fit of the Sako inletting in the McMillan stock vs the Tikka action and bottom metal ?

*Waters* mags are the aluminium mags with the extra length for longer bullets, right ?

I must admit that the camo is pretty cool on that stock !

I recently got a T3X Varmint. Forgive my ignorance, but who sells Manners or McMillan stocks? Any dealers in Canada? Anyone use Boyds Pro Varmint stocks on their Tikka's?

I got the Manners off the EE. Not sure where you can find them up here but I'm sure Profit River or one of those companies could get one in for you.

The Robertson is nice and light but unfortunately they don't exist anymore. It was also nice in the sense that the colour was expended right on the stock so it wouldn't chip away. Personally I think the Manners was superior in that it was stiffer.
