Show us the mods on your Tikka rifle !

Yes, you are correct.

Tikka T3 Varmint 6.5x55
McMillan A5
Sightron 8-32x56
CDI Bottom Metal
Armacoated Barrelled Action
EGW Rings
Ken Farrell 20 MOA Rail
Vektor Brake
your stock looks incredible; what color selection did you order to get that look/pattern?
Also, I didn't see a long action CDI kit for the T3 in a standard caliber; what did you use and did you have to mod anything?
Thanks

Kosmic I know you have heard it a lot but I also think your rifle looks awesome. I have the same scope and stock on mine. Let me know if you ever want to sell it!

You guys are making me drool over those tikkas. Flip! Does anybody happen to know whether the tikka t3 action is actually casted or if it's made of solid steel? You guys who have rebarreled your probably have the answer to my question. My t3 life is feeling left out. I think it needs a manners stock and new heavy barrel, or a McMillan hunting stock. Darn tikka bug ! I'm starting to wonder if this tikka action is gonna out do the Remington 700 style

They are not cast, I pulled my Tikka barrel off a couple weeks ago. It was on there stupid tight compared to the other barrels I have removed, but it did thread right off.
Going to true the action and push the face of the action back enough to remove that taper at the front and give more surface area for the shoulder of the barrel. JC customs barrel, will be chambered in 6.5x55AI, with the plan of shooting 160gr Matrix VLD's

Well I'm glad it's not cast. I don't care for casted receivers. I'm womdering if the tikka t3 action is same quality as the sako trg. Perhaps not. Would be neat to know

I put this together with a new Tikka T3 Compact in 308(20" barrel), picked up a new McMillan Hunters Edge stock on the EE and a Leupold VX-3. It weighs 6 3/4lbs with one in the chamber and a full mag.

This is super nice! I have been wanting to put together a hunting rifle like this for a while. Thanks for sharing!

No need to true or machine the face of the action back. You're not going to fix what the Finns designed with purpose.

From a thread I posted a few years ago;

Picked up a T3 Sporter recently and wanted to be able to utilize existing optics from my TRG's. Had my smith mill the reciever to recieve the recoil lug/abutment on the Sako 3-ring mount.

Takes the poor mans TRG concept 1step further.

I did the exact same thing on my Tikka M-55 and have no regrets the guns shoots great and lots more receiver face for the shoulder to butt up against I still can't figure why it was done with the taper to begin with but might explain the Loctite on the threads .

Here is my take on the Tikka

T3 receiver
JC custom barrel
Aluminum bolt shroud
Chambered in 6.5 x47 Lapua
XLR stock
Spuhr mount
Mountain Tactical 20 MOA picatinny rail
Bushnell XRS optic
Yo Dave trigger upgrade
Barreled action cerakoted OD green

tikka superlite 22-250

Mcmillan edge. I never liked the color, and hate it even more now. the speckle paint in the checkering makes it impossible to repaint and look good I think. Olive with black would be OK but I hate the tan speckles.

If the tan was grey, would have been nice but personally, I think it looks not bad.
Nice rifle !
