whatever happend to these? would love to get my hands on one since i have the extra cash but all retailers seem to have stopped importation, i mean the BD-44 / MKB 42(H) i do remember their 9mm's went prohib.

My understanding of the situation is that the manufacturer is/was unreliable (specs on critical parts changed, hence the BD38 disaster - some would take key original parts, some wouldn't) and that the company went through ownership changes.

I bought a BD38 and a Bd44 in 2010.The BD38 was reclassified prohibited and had to be turned in to the RCMP.
I still have the BD44 and after less than 500 rounds the bolt broke one of the ears of,very poor quality, looks like a casting instead of a forging like the original ones.
Have been waiting for a replacement for months, but no luck so far.

SSD has their 3rd reincarnation. There is a US distributor, but there is no interest for a CDN distributor or US export.

Really neat concept, but the quality just wasn't there if you planned on shooting the rifle.

SSD has not done anything to help out, even Wolverine Supplies tried (Thank you John) but not even a response from them !
I found an original WWII bolt on ebay from Bulgaria and an original bolt carrier on GB from the US (imported for me by Prophet River, thanks for the great service)
So after some handfitting of the bolt carrier, the slot for the charging handle was a bit too narrow and adjusting the headspace it is ready for a trip to the range, waiting for
a sunny day.

Sounds familiar. When I had mine, I ended up replacing almost everything but the barrelled receiver with WW2 parts to make it run right. It eventually was a GREAT gun. Maybe I should not have sold it (!)

Looking forward to shooting mine again, too bad you sold yours, they are a lot of fun to shoot.
Watching "Hickok 45" shooting one full auto makes me want to go back to Vegas again and have some more fun at "Battlefield Vegas".
