Anyone running Vihtavuori powders ? It seems as if they are readily available unlike a lot of other powders. Anyone deal with Hirsch Precision ?

I am trying to get together a few loads for my rifles, where components are readily available and all under one roof to save on shipping. I am reloading for a TRG 42 (.338 Lapua) and my Savage 10TR .308.

I have some VV N135 on hand which I plan to load some 6BR with, but I have not done it yet. I think the down side is that it is a bit more expensive, and more temperature sensitive compared to the Hodgdon Extreme powders. There may be some benefits to barrel life though.

Hirsch Precision is very good to deal with. Just call and ask to talk to Peter. I've bought a Sightron scope, Forster dies, Lapua brass, and Lapua rimfire ammo from them.

i used to load 9mm with titegroup but now load that calibre exclusively with n320. i find it to be more accurate and much cleaner.

I have used N160,N165,N560 in 6.5-06,270 ,280 AI and 7mm Rem Mag and 540 in the 308 with great success. It seems to cost more but usally comes in 1 Kg or 2 Kg so you are getting a bit more powder.I haven't bought any for quite a while and looking at the price increase in H and IMR powders it might be cheaper than them now.

Have run a bit of 560. Hirsch is good to deal with. I think almost all my vit has come from them. They also have reasonable prices on lapua projectiles. For the .338 probably 160/170 560/570 depending on weights and what your trying to do.

They have a lot of gun accessories too - scopes, high-dollar receivers and the like. I buy all my VV pistol powders from them - have them on my Garmin (not that that helps you all that much ;) but yeah - good to deal with.

I have and use the following Vihtavuori Powders: N133, N135, N140, N540, N150, N550, N160, N560, N165, N170, N570.
They are GREAT powders!! Clean, and very consistent, lot-to-lot. With N165 and the 140 Accubond, I am getting just over 3000 fps, in my 270 with no pressure indications.
Peter at Hirsch Precision is a great guy to deal with as well. Enjoy, Dave.
