On the Benelli Defence website they show a tactical pump with a breach ,does anyone know if can be used on the 14" tactical available in Canada.

Link for reference.

As good as Casey at Tac Ord is; I'm not sure the Benelli Supernova barrel is even thick enough for thin-wall chokes... It's one of the thinnest barrels I've seen on a shotgun (fine for such a strong hammer forged barrel) but for the choked Benelli shotguns, they have a bell at the end where the thickness is increased.

Thanks for the info.

I actually have the breacher from TacOrd, for my Benelli M4 (with the choke adapter) (I also have the Carlson tactical breacher which i prefer as it's a bit smaller) and I also have the 14" supernova, I'd been looking for a breacher for it for a loong time.

The breacher itself literally slips over the Supernova's barrel, so there is no way you could thread the outside for it.

You could theoretically machine a spacer threaded piece like a giant Heli-coil except solid, but I doubt the barrel OR that piece would be strong enough after completed.

The only thing I could think of, would be to silver solder an un-threaded breacher onto the barrel.

Some pictures:

Also, the benelli Supernova barrel is: 21mm OD, and the outside of the choke is 19.9mm, so you'd have a 0.55mm (or less depending on how much tolerance the cutter has) of wall thickness if you were to thread the barrel for chokes.

I did have another thought though, if you were dead set on that setup, Casey could probably open up the breacher to a bigger thread size, then silver solder a threaded piece onto and over the barrel. That would retain the strength of the barrel.

I guess the question is; how much do you want to spend on this little adventure?

For all the cool factor, it doesn't make much of a difference when using it as a brake; and it does add a fairly significant amount of weight to the front of the gun (which isn't necessarily a bad thing when you have a 14" lightweight gun chambered for 3.5" supermags :D)
