muzzle brake in the thick bush?

am looking at buying a new 30 06 hunting rifle that comes with a muzzle brake. was just wondering if anyone has ever had an issue with twigs or any junk getting stuck in the muzzle brake holes while bushwhackin. could this be an issue or am I over thinking it?

I have a flash hider on my scout and dog deer with it...... it has never been an issue with branches or brush.....

The one issue I do have is it picks up "fluff" from the inside of the gun boot on my 4 wheeler but that's a quick and easy fix and I doubt it would affect trajectory......

Twigs stuck in the holes in front of your bore will ruin your day.

Electrical tape over all the ports will prevent that.

Type muzzle cover or muzzle cap on google/amazon

We tape those to our muzzle and they just fly off

I foresee no issues as long as you hunt alone or don't hunt near another hunter.

Nothing like being next to a guy with a brake when a deer gets up in warp drive.

Ok ! An old GI trick was to put a Condom over the muzzle . Ar`s have a special plastic cap that you would just shoot off. Wouldn't try black tape but might try tin foil. If the need ever arose,

I have used black electrical tape for years on my hunting rifles. At the shot the gs in front of the bullet punches out the tape at the muzzle. No effect on accuracy. I have also done this with AR style muzzle / flash hider. Does the same thing on the shot - it is blown off. Not really sure why you think this is the worst post of the day, unless you have tried it and had a problem?

Why? I've always taped the muzzles of hunting rifles...they seem to work appropriately.
You can actually see the remains of the tape on the muzzle in every "A dead deer, my rifle, and me" picture I have.

I never had a problem with sticks getting in the holes of a muzzle brake, but cleaning patches sometimes come off the jag and get well stuck in there. They can be a real pain to get out. WK

Scotch 88 works very well for taping over the muzzle. The cheaper electrical tapes don' t stick as well in the cold.

I'll be hunting next year with two braked rifles...... Thats brake, not break...
The brakes will be taped, same as the muzzles and having shot them at the range they show no difference in performance or accuracy.
