The Tac Ord Versamax blurs the lines a little. With a 28" barrel and without the extended magazine it wouldn't be out of place. Many of the modifications offered by Tac Ord are not uncommon for clay target auto loaders.

Most people would not spend money on most of those mods to shoot trap a couple of times per year as the OP specified. For a couple of times per year, and some hunting, none of those mods are required on a decent shotgun. You are correct about the extended magazine, pure silliness on a trap gun.

Very true. None of the mods are required but having replaced the carrier, bolt handle, bolt latch, front sight, recoil pad, choke tubes and had the forcing cone polished on my Beretta 391 it's hard for me to be too critical of anyone who buys a gun with a few mods. ;)

Question for the OP: What's the final price tag on the Tac Ord Versamax?

Then again, you likely shoot that gun more than a couple of times per year.

Got the VERSA MAX WOOD-TECH for 1299 From Epps So 1400 shipped with the 5% Tax They come with all 3 cheek risers and the extended Chokes case all all the other crap.

And From Tac Ord My bill should be around 600$

Open up feed port, New Carrier, Polish barrel and bevel forend, Tartan Tactical Bolt handle, T.T Safety, T.T Bolt release, Reduce trigger spring, N.C follower.

The bolt fluting and Nitride coating does 0 for performance so im not getting it.

All in that price would be less than the Benelli SuperSport and in the same ballpark as the Beretta as they come from the factory. Definitely an interesting choice. Let us know how it works for you when you get it.

No idea why you'd drop that kind of coin on a Remington when Benelli/Beretta is part of the equation. Have you actually taken them apart and looked at the substantial difference in build quality?

Your money I guess, the EE is full of questionable decision making,

Patrick

If I don't like it I'll get something else, It's not like I'm dropping big ammouts of money.

And everyone I talked to that have a Versamax Tuned by Tac Ord are super happy. Yes I did my research and when you look long enough you can find positive and negative reviews on everything. All the shortcomings of the VM will be addressed by Tac Ord.

That's why I went that route, and At the same time Im supporting a Canadian company.

The biggest problem with adding custom work to a firearm, is that you usually recover very little of the cost of the custom work, if you decide to sell.
