Very curious how it shoots. I'm looking for a 9mm 1911 to round out the collection next tax season, and these have been catching my eye

I shot the 45 at a shot show at GALT gun club in Puslinch.
I hope yours doesn't shoot like the ones there did...I had 4 failure to ejects in a row in the .45 and other people were having the same problem in the 9mm.
They even cleaned them, then brought them back out, but problems still. I hope it was the ammo because the gun looks cool. I hope you report that yours works great, because I'll never buy one based off my experience.
When it did cycle I didn't love it enough to warrant a purchase, maybe it was because it was having problems thus I wasn't as excited so I can't be certain.

Nice 1911 , have been looking at these too. love the grips.

and then the made in Turkey on the other side kills the Canuck meaning for me . It would be better if it said nothing. Looks like the fit and finish is really good on it though

List price on these is $799, but I got it for $699. It pays to shop around. I think the going rate is $749.
There are no 1911s made in Canada, are there? I'm not sure if the Canuck parts are done in Canada by O'Dell Engineering, the distributor, or in Turkey. There was a dark grey set of resin? grips in the box, so they may arrive here plain and get Candianized on shore.
For those interested, it comes in a blue plastic locking case and included 2 magazines, cleaning brush and a cleaning rod plus owners manual and warranty card. I also purchased 2 Brownell 9mm mags with rubber bases, which will be more suitable for IDPA if I switch to using the 1911.
Finally, for those with the noses in the air over its Turkish origin, I considered the Norinco, Rock Island Armouries, Seraphim Armouries Archangel 9mm stainless 1911s. I chose the Canuck for price, features and quality. None are made in Canada and I was looking for something less than $800.
I'll put up a report on how it shoots soon.

Congrats nugunner; it looks like a nice setup. Quality of firearms coming out of Turkey has been coming up over the years; I hope the other 2 mentioned were lemons and yours runs great. I am interested in seeing your range report when you get it out.
I bought a Taurus 1911 shortly after they came out; SFRC had a sale at Christmas and the deal was WAY too good to pass up. Some of the guys at the range were turning their noses up at it 'cause it was not made in the US; then I shot a 10 round group at 10 meters that was easily covered by a loonie with white box Winchester ammo

There is one 1911 that was made in Canada, by Para Ordnance. Since moved to the USA. Another series of 1911s (is it from Seraphim?) is assembled in Canada from mostly American parts. I have nothing against a US-made gun, I just wasn't willing to pay the prices.
